All they have to do is say how many bottles they have. It's pretty simple.

More broadly I think all they have ever had to do was be honest. They could very easily say, “we expect LC this year to include 8 375ml stouts or BWs, 1 750ml stout, and 10 sours. None of these will be packaged, but additional bottles can be purchased during public sales if they occur, and those likely will be packaged with 1-4 sours. We hope to include 1-5 additional Stouts or Barleywines, but the beers decide when they are ready, not us, so these we cannot guarantee. But, if they become available, at least 1 of them will go to LC before public.”

They don’t include that or provide any other information standard for any other membership because they like to be cloaked in mystery, and it keeps customers on the ropes. It’s ridiculous, but that is their model. It isn’t hard to be honest/forthcominng, but they sure make it seem that way.

Agreed. Some transparency would go a really long way but history has shown that they'd rather deal with a bunch of logistical headaches instead of doing that.

Probably another 36 bottle cluster-bleep like we had last time. I got my blood pressure up for nothing, lol

Whatever happened to getting all of LC to pick Silent Barrels eventually?? At this rate it’ll be 40 years before they get through everyone…. Seems like I need to open a wine shop or something to get it quicker LOL!

Considering the turnover in LC these days, I doubt it.

I personally feel like it's a bit of arrogance on the part of Side Project. I don't know an LC member that paid $250 to be a member so that they can have better access to their saisons and farmhouses. I'm sure there are some and i'm not knocking that if that's your thing.

But it's the stouts and bw's were all after, right?

I mean, how long has that $40 LC Saison been sitting in there for sale?

Based on order numbers for my wife & I looks like at least 89 bottles. Which is definitely more than I'd have guessed based on the VW BBT (fingers crossed there was no over selling this time)

That all makes complete sense, but* (for the zillionth time) nobody should expect this to stop or get better until SP is incentivized to do so in the form of “people no longer want to be LC members at that price”

*not like arguing with your point by any means, just adding to it and shouting into the void, more or less

I may even take umbrage with the 'better access' part of that, these days. How many of the stouts and bw's don't end up just readily available in the online public store at this point? With Knox qualifies. But Bubble Wrap, Parfait, w/ Tarpey....any Jim or Bob off the street have the same access you and I do. Yeah, it's part of a package, but they're already starting out with $250 in extra spending money in their pocket. You and I paid $250 for a shot at a Silent Barrel we likely both missed out on and some included saisons. Or a 5 year old Biere Blanche.

I got one. Well as of now. Hopefully I don’t get an email all BP CEO, South Park style saying “we’re sorry”

I thought I’d regret not re-upping with the LC this year, but I really, really don’t. Sounds like it’s the same (or worse) as last year. Too bad. Used to be a great club (before I could get into it).
