Fun beer to sip on. Not sure if I would have pegged it as a brown ale because there's a lot going on here haha. Brewery description:

I usually only do breakfast beers on vacation but this is a worthy candidate. Cheers!

The glass contains a smoky amaro called, appropriately enough, Sfumato. I don't think I've seen a bottle in at least two years, but it's back at the Bottle King! Goes well with the Rauchbier, too...

Interesting, I had to look that drink up - so for everyone else who needs to do so ... cheers!!!

Sfumato is an Italian amaro (bitter liqueur) produced by Cappelletti, known for its smoky, bitter, and slightly sweet flavor profile. The name "Sfumato" is derived from the Italian word for smoke, "fumo," and reflects the liqueur's smoky character. It's made with a base of rhubarb, specifically a variety grown in Trentino-Alto Adige, along with other alpine herbs and berries.

Key characteristics of Amaro Sfumato Rabarbaro:

    Smoky and Bitter:

The liqueur's signature smokiness comes from the rhubarb root and other smoked botanicals.

    Sweet and Fruity:

Notes of sweet alpine berries and a touch of rhubarb sweetness balance the bitterness.
    Alpine Herbs:

The blend includes various alpine herbs that contribute to the complex, earthy, and slightly woody flavor profile.

    Rhubarb:

A key ingredient, the special rhubarb variety from Trentino-Alto Adige, is the heart of the liqueur's flavor.
    Wine-Based:

Unlike many amari that use neutral alcohol as a base, Sfumato is wine-based, adding another layer of complexity.

[IMG] Checked on some garage fridge selections and was dismayed to find that some were frozen/ruptured! I managed to save this IPA: “Timber Wolf “! Fingers crossed that the others are salvageable!
