I have yet to see a Sunshine Pils at Citizens Bank Park but maybe today will be my lucky day!?!:beers:

I typically buy Fiddlehead IPA at the game but a nice Pilsner would indeed be enjoyable on a day like today.

    Cheers!

[IMG] Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass not sure when it was canned, 3 weeks max I am guessing. Pours a very attractive hazy milky yellow with a half finger sticky white head, that leaves thin streaks of lace with nice retention. 4.75

Aroma is peach, pineapple, passionfruit, tangerine, and apricot. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine, passionfruit, pineapple, peach, and apricot exceptional balance. 4.5

Mouthfeel is a tad bigger than average, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry , and at 6.2% it drinks bigger in body and flavor, but still extremely easy going down. 4.75

Overall this will ruin regular Easy Operator for me, but for only 6.2% this brew is banging. 4.5 Cheers all.

Yes, and I didn’t pick up on the fact the wheat may be or is responsible for the mouthfeel. That said, I guess I expected some flavor, like what I get from Oberon or Gumballhead. I see it as sort of an orphan beer in terms of style. I wouldn’t peg it as a Wheat, AAL or a European Pale Lager, and that’s OK.

Look forward to hearing about your Fourth of July gathering and hope you find a new beer to share. Also a bit concerned of the financial commitment to Marner by Vegas. Think Maple Leafs were wise letting him go.

    Cheers!

100% on Marner, as sad as I will be to not see his stick wizardry, it never worked in the playoffs. I loved his time but I think in the long run it actually makes the Leafs a better team, sort of saw it coming when the put their money in Nylander and Matthews, but my favorite most crucial piece that got taken care of, Matthew Knies.

I'll do my best to find a single to share this weekend sometime, or maybe a beer on tap somewhere.

One new beer for me this holiday weekend.

Lone Pint Little Rose, "Little IPA" at 4.4% ABV.

Pours with a slight cloudy/haziness. A pale yellow color. The dense white head rises with good retention and lace left behind.
Oh, citrus pith, melon and berries pop up front. Very aromatic.
Taste wise, up front is all the citrus, melon and berry fruit salad you can handle. The fruity hop character becomes a bit sweet, I also get a green vegetal character, and a light lingering bitterness.
A light body, that is a bit watery. Good carbonation, but it could finish cleaner for my tastes. Though not hard at all to drink. I can come back to this.

The obvious goal is to make a lighter version of Yellow Rose. In that sense they for sure succeed. I do like it, but have a few quibbles. Maybe the lack of body brings out the green vegetable character, and makes it more noticeable than in the regular version. Still, it is enjoyable.

    Overall score is 3.91, B+

    Good afternoon NBW
I'm finally getting around to this one after a mixed 12 pack purchase earlier today.

12oz can stamped AUG 25 2025 poured into a shaker pint glass at fridge temp 5.3% ABV. The beer pours hazy in a soft yellow amber with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. Slight lacing. The aroma is mild with sweet tropical fruit salad and a hint of malt. The taste is more of the same with sharp, slightly bitter, tropical fruit that fades into a modest pale malt and moderately bitter finish. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, ok, but not my style.

I've got two more from the pack that are new to me, so I'll be back. Cheers all!

Hit the road for two Lovelady Brewery stops, the first their newer taproom and first visit for me. Trying to finish the Nevada Brewery passports for both my brother and I. Had to enter this beer into the BA Database.

Appearance: 16 oz poured into a tulip glass yields a murky orange tan yellow pour, bright white head which leaves generous razor thin lacing and cover over the base. 3.75

Aroma: Faint grass and fresh bread. Rely had to work to get this much. 2.75

Taste: A bit more flavor, citrus leads, somewhat like a watered down tang mix, bread and grassy floral notes raise the pleasure. 3.25

Mouthfeel: Faint carbonation, drinks light and easy. Slightly dry and bitter overall, citrus bread grass finish. 3.25

Overall: This is a light beer in both potency and flavor. OK for hot weather, not sure is revisit. 3.0

Likely go with a standby before checking out their brewery.

A very happy Independence Day, New Beer Swiggers and commentators. What a gorgeous 4th of July! The weather is absolutely perfect. Our in-town brewery, Autodidact Beer, has a great business model. They can several small batches every week. Some are new and others are favorites. The cans sell out quickly. One of this week's 3 new beers is Tactical Nuke, an all-Citra TIPA. And "all-Citra" includes Citra T-90 Pellets, Citra Incognito, Citra Cryo, Citra Hop Hash, Citra Hyper Boost, and Citra Abstrax. It was canned 2 days ago and it took all my will power not to pop one yesterday or Wednesday.

It is a dense, opaque, bright tangerine with a full finger, bright white, fluffy head and thick lacing. The nose is pure Citra with big notes of lemon, grapefruit, lime, peach, melon, and tropical fruits. The taste is bold and powerfully Citra-forward with lots of tart lemon, lime, and grapefruit, balanced by some sweet fruit, including pineapple, passion fruit ,and ripe honeydew. It just pops! The bitterness is sharp but clean. For a TIPA, its mouth feel is surprisingly lite and crisp. And the 10.2% ABV doesn't distract.

I added it to the BA database but this isn't the first rating. @PhineasMcClintock gave it 4.5.

I look forward to sharing some more new beers with you over the holiday weekend. Cheers, NBW!

Mostly clear and golden body; decent carbonation, coarse and lively; one-finger thick head, dense and creamy texture, long-lasting. Fruity esters greet the nose; muted orange up front; yellow pome fruit; peach and pear. Low-key biscuit malt flavor; citrus-like tartness; nice mild hop bitterness overtone. Medium-heavy body; very soft and velvety; light dryness.

This single hop pale ale introduces me to Zumo hops. The brewers used Maris Otter malt as well. Combined together, the ingredients make for a tasty, easy drinking beer. I wish I knew the canning date for this beer. I suspect it may be a tad old but it still offers some good things to savor.

$7.59 with tax, 16 oz draft pour, 6.7% ABV, 50 IBUs. West Coast IPA.

Appearance: 16 oz poured into a tulip glass yields a crystal clear yellow golden base, negligible carbonation after initial burst. Bright white head leaves generous razor thin lacing and cover over the base. 4.0

Aroma: Solid pine dank citrus bitter aroma, bold and beautiful. 4.5

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, though a little dialed back in terms of strength. Pine and dank leads, light but nice citrus and tangerine backs. Solid. 4.25

Mouthfeel: Faint gentle carbonation, drinks lighter than the ABV. Lightly dry, bitter. Resinous, darkness the primary takeaway here. Balanced, nice pine dank finish. 4.0

Overall: This is a solid WCIPA, classical flavors, solid enjoyable flavors, well done. Will revisit when given the chance. 4.25

Will nurse this a bit before by second and final planned stop.

Appearance: Clear dark amber, ok head but fizzes out quickly.

    Smell: Mild dark fruit, sweetness.

Taste: Mildly sweet dark fruit to start, then a nice oaky smoke flavor. Slick mouthfeel, doesn't feel over 8%. Finishes with the dark fruit and some lasting smoke.

Overall: A new one from Hammerheart, in collaboration with Northbound Smokehouse. A big dunkel lager with a nice mix of dark fruit sweetness and smoke. Really drinking easy for an 8.3% beer, could be dangerous!

Pours a thick, dark and opaque brown color; lively carbonation percolating up through the top; thin, light brown head, lasting and somewhat dense and creamy after settling for a while. Dark chocolate and cocoa nose; suggestion of grain char. Milk and bittersweet chocolate taste; grain char; quiet flow of bourbon flavor coursing beneath the sweetness; roasted grain bitterness offsets the darkly sweet malts. Heavy and viscous body; rich and sticky mouthfeel; oily.

This incredibly dense and flavorful beer is a knockout! It is dense and luscious throughout. Something to savor, it would make for a fine beer to have with a whiskey / whisky of choice (neat).

    30 Minute Light IPA

12oz can stamped OCT 2025 poured into a shaker pint glass at fridge temp 4% ABV, 95 calories 3.6 carbs per label. The beer pours hefe-hazy in a soft golden yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. Minimal lacing. The aroma is mild with pale malt and vague fruit/citrus hop notes. The taste is medium bitter citrus over a neutral malt with a quick finish. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, ok for the session subset, but not something I'd buy again. Think Mich Ultra with additional bitterness and a hint of hop flavor.

That leaves me with a couple sour styles that I won't love and regret for having picked this pack up. I'll be back at some point this weekend, but I'm going back to my Busch Light Lime now because I actually enjoy it. I have a 12 pack of Torpedo that won't disappoint either. Cheers all!

    Greetings, fellow NBWers

Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans on this thread, and happy Friday to those outside the US's borders. Right now it's a lightly breezy 79°. For much of the week the highs have been between the high 80s and high 90s, so I'm enjoying today's temperatures.

Today I'm house sitting for some friends that, unfortunately, had to make an unplanned trip to Pittsburgh for the death of a family member. They have a dog and cat, each of which have issues that are best dealt with by someone who is with them in the house, so I'm sleeping in my friends' guest room. They were kind enough to gift me a 4-pk of 4 day old tallboys of Retrospect, from Uprise Brewing, but that's a beer I've already reviewed, so I had to hit something else for NBS.

Mother Earth Brewing is theoretically a San Diego-area brewery, but they have a satellite brewery in Nampa, Idaho, which is where I suspect this was brewed:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22610/737488/?ba=woemad#lists
Has a nose reminiscent of a pilsner- herbal and grassy - but it's got a rather flabby mouth feel. There's none of the crispness one associates with a good pils. I suspect that is down to age, as it seems this was canned in late January. I'll give it another shot if I ever come across a fresher example. I'll probably be back with another new beer over the course of this weekend .

New Holland has been doing that with their Dragons Milk name; I think they look at it as a brand and not a specific style.
