My cellar pull for tonight. This is officially my last can, and I'm glad I opened it now. It has faded slightly, but still great. Double Double Cask from Kane. 15.7% ABV. Double barrel-aged barleywine. Boozy and full of toffee and dark fruit.

I'm not quite sure when it was bottled? I picked it up in May at TH Boston. It tasted great.. loved the lime/citrus hints.

I don’t remember if I’ve posted this in a previous annual version of this thread—but if I have, it bears repeating: Find this beer, if you can. It’s an excellent English barleywine, I believe it has won some awards, and is well worth seeking out. Cheers!

What a nice beer! Aroma is fragrant with malt, bourbon, rum, fig, prune, dark chocolate, leather, very complex and progressive with warmth. Flavors are equal to the promise. Tilted towards mild sweetness with bitterness close behind. Alcohol has a mild heat and slight numbing sensation on the gums. The cheese (Gorgonzola Dolcé) brings out a light earthiness in the beer. Dense body, soft deerskin leather texture.

Ambré from Babeleir Beer & Blending in Belgium. A delicious American-style barleywine. 11.5% ABV. Tons of caramel candy, bread, plums, raisins, and citrus peel. Cheers!

I'm drinking my last can of Humble Forager "Elm". Brewed at The Brewing Projekt in Eau Claire WI. You can sure taste the vanilla beans. Other flavors are golden figs, oak, toffee and hints of rye, maple syrup and molasses. The barrel is there but is not strong. My previous score stands 4.41/5

Haven't been imbibing much lately but I got a hankering for something tasty from @snaotheus

The caramel and toffee are both beautifully bountiful, but this isn't overly sweet. Earthy bitterness, faint citrus, and raisin provide ample balance. This is a wonderful beer, thanks Ryan!

Tree of Grace by Tree House

    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5
Brewers notes: Tree of Grace is a barrel-aged barleywine ale aged in a mix of bourbon barrels for one year before an additional year aged in select rum barrels. A product of time, patience, and carefully studied brewing acumen, this beer presents over a decade of learned experience in its creation.

Pouring a luscious dark amber color into your glass, notes of molten toffee, butterscotch, and sticky rum cake coat the palate. On top of this quintessential foundation, aromas of fruit-laden marzipan, oven-toasted coconut, and dried tropical fruits swirl above the glass. Tree of Grace is a beer to be celebrated and enjoyed on a special occasion. Given its heft and complexity, it should age exceptionally and reward your patience for up to ten years.

Chilled pint bottle poured into a pretentious beer glass, thick rich dark brown cola colored liquid, one finger brown foam cap , languid carbonation slowly floats to the top

    Aroma of bourbon whiskey, coconut

Taste is sweet , dessert in glass, or caramel, toffee, marzipan , bourbon, dark fruits , butterscotch

Thick, soft, rich, decadent, syrupy , low carbonation. No heat

    Damn! This bastard tastes great!

    Great beer, recommended

I randomly looked at how many barleywines I've reviewed on BA, and this is #426. Endless Tomorrows from Highland Park. A barrel-aged barleywine, coming in at 14.3% ABV.

From Highland Park: Endless Tomorrows is a blend of barleywines aged in:

    • a Woodinville Applewood Stave bourbon barrel for 18 months.
    • a Heaven Hill bourbon barrel for 18 months.
    • a Ginja barrel (that held and finished Woodinville Whiskey) for 18 months.
    • a Woodinville bourbon barrel for 12 months.
    • a Port barrel (that held and finished Woodinville Whiskey) for 24 months.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with minimal head. The nose is insane. Loads of bourbon coming through immediately. Vanilla, toffee, molasses, and maple. Raisin, figs, cinnamon, graham cracker, and sherry.

The taste is outstanding. Bourbon-soaked toffee candy. Vanilla, port, berries, cola, clove, brown sugar, oak, and tons if raisin. This is a really nicely done barleywine. The barrel is definitely strong. Very smooth, and not too sweet. Excellent stuff.

Stumbled on this and the Sherry version. Bought 1 of each. Past its prime but I can’t tell if it’s bad or just how it’s supposed to taste. Luckily the bottles are small so I’ll probably finish it

    Cross post from WBAYDN…

A cool rainy one having spent the day in Southeastern British Columbia (Kootenay National Park) and Peyto Lake (Banff NP) that had temps in the 40’s. Currently in the mid 50’s back at Panorama Mountain where we saw Mama Moose and her baby getting a drink by the side of the road (the baby skittled away).
Enjoying a Calgary splurge pick-up, this is a solid BA EBA. Getting notes of toffee, raisins, and cherries. Barrel brings oak, vanilla, and a fresh whiskey vibe. Finishes balanced with a touch of boozy cherry in post sip aspirations. Rated 4.26.
