What beer are you drinking now? #4647

Rainy Thursday. Tasty stuff. Cheers all.

 

MadMadMike, speaking of the Tour de France (I love the song and remixes by Kraftwerk, btw), when it comes to biking, because of a near-fatal electrocution I experienced on Valentine's Day, 2012, which destroyed my balance, coordination and flexibility for awhile (as well as some memory issues), and because of my age (56 next month), the only biking I'm thinking of doing is eventually getting one of those tricycles for seniors lol...But, I digress! =)

This was from Part 2 of my massive haul, special ordering from LCBO.com on Canada Day (July 1st). Seventeen of the 46 beers were available when they were open the following day, as they were already in the store, but the other 29 had to be shipped in from their regional warehouse...which is always well worth the wait. Some breweries I've never tried before!

With Sundae, my first from Bamberg, Germany's Schlenkerla, their 5.1% flagship beer, their Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Marzen. Another bunch of memories, as I visited Munich and Goppingen (near the Black Forest), on my own when I was 17, December 1986 (when the Berlin Wall was still up). Part of my nine-country in 30-days trek!



Sure glad the 29-beer haul arrived, especially with the heatwave and all of the thunderstorms we've been having, here in McGregor. When each storm hits, Gracie instantly darts underneath the bed, while Sundae jumps on top of my stomach, relaxes and starts purring. Sure glad Pamela's cats enjoy my company!

I'm leading the weekly outing of my Responsible Beer Drinking Club today, usually Thursdays (it's monthly, when winter comes), so my second new beer of the day (hopefully an entire flight of four new ones!) will be from Erie Street Gastropub (pictured)...

Another day, another cask ale from Dogfish Head - this one an ordinary bitter called Pre-Punk in London.


This one makes me more happy than yesterday’s export stout at the production site. Malty and bready with a nice hop bitterness.

 

Meeting beer. The last one I had from Colorado.
