Thanks to @JackHorzempa for starting us out!

Drekker BRAAAAAAAAins Strawberry Lemonade Double Fruit Smoothie Sour, 6.3% ABV. Pours dark-red with a one-finger pink head that left lacing and puree residue. Aroma is strawberry, lactose, and lemon. Taste is strawberry, lemon, vanilla, quite sweet, equally tart, salt on the close. Decent mouthfeel, overall most excellent.

Hi all, I apologize if my earlier rant bothered anyone. I’m back at the airport, different airline, different concourse. Hopefully Frontier is blessed with better weather than we had yesterday.
This concourse has the Breckenridge Brewery -
No stouts so back to IPAs
    [IMG]
    Ridge Runner.
This was specified as a WCIPA when I ordered it at the Breckenridge Brewery tap house in Denver International Airport - but here it’s billed as an American IPA.
    Here is more accurate.
The pour is transparent amber color and is capped with a 1/2” near white head.
The taste leads with mild pine and grapefruit rind flavors that merge into the sweeter biscuity malts. Not as balanced as, say Two Hearted, I think they were going for more west coast than mid west. And they managed to pull it off.
The feel is thinner than I think it should be, but that’s an opinion, not a quibble.
OA, descent beer, not great though.
    Back soon.

X Series: Lovebird / Grodzisk Piwo from Bickford Brewing Co., a collab with Lovebird Brewing

I never miss a chance to try a Grodziskie, so I was looking forward to trying this.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A two finger bubbly white head on a hazy light amber. The head diminishes to a layer. Good head retention. lots of patchy lacing.

Faint smoke in the nose. Tastes of smoke up front. This diminishes in strength but sticks around to the end. Some faint herbal lemon in the finish.

A light body with good carbonation. Overall a sessionable, light, crisp smoked wheat beer. Interesting oak smoked flavour.

Hope you can successfully complete your trip today @Whyteboar .

Reaching the afternoon soon here. Packed, cleaned and ready to hit a few Arts District and one Strip hotels before heading back to Chicago. My final new Energren selection, perhaps I’ll run into more before return home, where I haven’t seen them distribute.

7/12/25 - (DA’s Home) (Las Vegas, Nevada) Can Notes: Purchased a single 16 oz can refrigerated for $3.24 with tax on July 3, 2025 at Speedee Mart, refrigerated until opening this morning. High Street, Vienna-Style Lager. 5.4% ABV, 30 IBU, no can date. 45-50 F serving temperature, Willi Becher Glassware, pairs well with spicy bratwurst, Vermont cheddar cheese, bacon & fig pizza, crème brûlée. Brewed & Canned by Enegren Brewing Company, Moorpark, California.

This classic Vienna-Style lager is named after the historic Main Street in Moorpark, California where it is brewed. It is a reddish amber color with a malty backbone and slight sweetness complimented by a subtle spiciness from the German Hops.

Appearance: Poured close to half the 16 oz can into a flute glass, yielding tan white creamy soapy lacing over a clear amber tan base. Negligible carbonation after the initial pour, and head leaves a thin cover over the base. 3.75

    Aroma:
Strong caramel malt aroma, lemon tea backs. Sweet. 3.75

    Taste:
Caramel front and center, pumpernickel bread backs. Malty. 3.5

    Mouthfeel:
Gentle persistent carbonation, drinks easy, below the ABV. Sweet, but enough hops to cause issues. Malty, caramel sweetness lingers start to finish. 4.0

    Overall:
This is a solid offering in a style that is not my favorite (malty & sweet). Enough hops to balance as best as possible. Good beer, but prefer other Enegren styles and offerings to regularly drink. 3.75

The forecast is for another heat wave this week, so it's time to enjoy some less refreshing beers before the house heats up.

It was hard to find too much information on this one, but I believe it is the same as the beer formerly called Groundskeeper Willie Scotch Ale despite just saying Scotch Ale on my can. The appearance, aroma, and feel all suffered a bit by being in a 16oz crowler format, but there was nothing wrong with the taste.

Maybe another new one for me tomorrow, we'll see what the day brings.

    No BS Brewing
    (Groundskeeper Willie) Scotch Ale

Poured from a two-week old hand-filled and sealed can. Pours dark amber with a fleeting thin head.

All aroma is slight: caramel, toffee, peat.

While the appearance and aroma likely suffered from the hand filling, the taste saves the day. The sip starts with big caramel, then toffee, some molasses, and peat smoke join in. Through the middle, the peat smoke shifts to earthy hop bitterness and slight nuttiness that lingers through the finish, blending well with the caramel sweetness. The aftertaste trends sweeter and sticky.

Low carb; another casualty of the packaging method. It has a slick feel that with the low carb makes this silky-smooth.

Overall, this suffered a bit from packaging but the taste is great. Not fully to style, but damn good to drink.

I loved your rant and I would love to read the book you write about it when you get around to it.

If you ask me this thread is missing a lot of the ranting and discussion and ranting it used to have.

Im hoping to contribute later this weekend, possible tonight but more likely tomorrow.

Clear and golden body; lively carbonation; thick, white head, frothy throughout with a creamy texture on top. Pleasant and balanced scent; a bit spicy, a bit of tropical fruit character. Clean and balanced taste; refined light malt base; spicy hop flavor with a mild to moderate bitterness; clean. Crisp, medium body; delicate coarseness on the palate; starts with a soft sweetness and finishes with a lightly biting dryness.

This is a spiffy and well-balanced west coast India pale ale. The relatively light malt base matches beautifully with the hop flavor and bitterness. Sublimely complex and tasty.

It's a hot day here, with temperatures in the low 100s. I'll venture outside to swim in the pool, but that's about it for outdoors today.
My new beer for today is Bell's Cold Hearted, part of a mixed 12-pack.
The beer is a gold color. It has a one-finger white head that left a bit of lace.
    Nice aroma, citrus and pine.
Taste follows the nose. Grapefruit up front, pine later.
    Nicely hopped.

Haven't tried that one yet. Did have a tall boy of the Big Hearted yesterday, I've seen cans of it at a lot of gas stations around here lately. I'll have to look for the Cold Hearted, maybe it's just in the mixed 12 pack since I haven't noticed it around here otherwise.

    Hello New Beer Weekend!!!

Well, I decided to go to my booth at the county fair, and found out one of the propane tanks was stolen over the winter. Lovely. The criminal cut the line, and, because of that, I couldn't do my work there till it's fixed.

    Fuck criminals!

Time for a beer, and heck, Beaver Island Brewing in St. Cloud, MN is right on my way home.

Cherry infused Dopplebock? Well, it works. The aroma is light, but the flavor is good.

    On tap at the brewery.

This is a dark looking beer in the glass. Dark brown color with amber hues. There's clarity to the beer. There's a tan head to the beer that clings like glue to the glass.
The nose isn't too strong but what is there is pleasing. There's notes of cherry and roasted malts. Faint chocolate notes.
The roasted malts start off the flavor. Hints of chocolate appear. The beer then turns full on cherry. There's a hint of sweetness to it but it is mostly tart flavored.
The body is smooth feeling. Decent depth to the feeling
The feeling from the tart cherry feels pleasing, and it seems to work.
This is a very interesting take on the style and it works.

Be back when I get home.

Pours a dirty, pale, orangish brown color; thick, frothy head, long-last, sticking sheets and webs of foam lace the glass. Delightful nose; rich caramel and toffee; sweet toasted grains; dried apricot and peach. The taste expands on the smell; rich, earthy sweetness; heavy caramel; murky esters offset the grain sweetness; muted booziness; phenol bitterness. Heavy, sticky body; boozy warmth.

This version has a higher ABV than the 2022 bottle I sampled before, and I loved that edition. This particular bottle made no mention of aging gracefully for 25 years, but really, I'm glad to drink it now. It has aged well at four years.

    -----------------------------------------------------

...joining @GreenBayBA with a fine Burns Family beer this afternoon...should have me primed for watching 'A Clockwork Orange' later this evening (since @LarryV has postponed this evening's BA Zoom meeting)...

Packaged June 5, enjoyed on July 12th - poured from a pint can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Not quite clear citrine to corn gradient supports a fist of ivory stiff peaks. Rocky lacing; superior retention.

Vibrant bright aromatics suffused with citrus (orange zest, tangerine) and tropical notes (passion fruit, guava, etc.).

Moderate bitterness, zesty and lightly dank with a crackery malt bill unfurling into a fairly dry finish with hints of minerality and some faint returning sweetness suggesting vanilla.

Creamy, soft mouthfeel, slightly sticky, not quite refreshing.

Not especially unique, but an excellent example of the style from one of our best local brewers.
