Cheers, everyone, and thanks to all for being Beer Advocate friends! Here is Alexandr Pilsner from Schilling Beer somewhere in the far East.

Nose is lemony and grassy. Taste is resins with a burnt, bitter edge. Some flavors of raw grain and lemon jello. Then there is the bitter aftertaste. This starts out interesting but ends up a rougher beast. Pleasant malty sweetness, though. From the 16 oz can purchased on the West Coast. Dated 05/06/25. But listen to the music.

Thank you! It's easy when the country is so unbelievably beautiful.

Hello! Nothing as exotic as @The_Kriek_Freak's Kokura photos, but I do have a pleasant light bluish green splashback in the kitchen, which hosts tonight's beer, Beechworth Pale Ale, from Brodge Road Brewers in the Victorian "High Country." The inverted commas signify the fact that what is classified as high country in Australia would likely be considered foothills in North America and Europe...

    Cheers!

My son and I spent the day exploring around our hotel in Daiba as well as Taito City. Had a samurai experience in Taito City, then back to Tokyo Station for beers.

Good day BAs! Thanks @mactrail for opening the bar! Great pix and enjoy the travels, @MutuelsMark and @The_Kriek_Freak!

Today's New Breakfast Beer is from somewhere closer to home - my recent drive to MN:

Jörmungandr’s Rye from HammerHeart. Four pack of 16 fl oz cans, picked up at France 44, 17/07/25, $ 16.72 (Including tax)/$ 0.261 per fl oz. In the walk-in cooler at the seller, this spent the nights in hotel reefers and daytime in an insulated cooler with other cold cans and bottles. Reviewed 01/08/25 (Review 3555).
Final impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated can) Artist credit – Nate Burns! It’s good to find a brewer with adequate balls to make a rye beer that totally smells and tastes like rye! Rye beers are something I seek out but can rarely find – back in the day, I used to buy Terrapin’s Rye Pale Ale by the case, but it no longer makes it to my area (if they even still make it).

Cheers and Hoppy Weekend everyone! I think I'll give the big Stouts in my fridge a day off and tickle some IPAs today. Ghastly air quality here is again appalling as F. My 6 hr beer-earning trail hike must wait. Fingers xd for tmrw or Sunday. :beers:

Here's a 1980s jazz fusion tune that really got me going when I was at Berklee/Boston featuring the great Peter Erskine on drums. Steps and Steps Ahead have a long history including a lot in Japan.
