First beer of the day and it's a big one.

Taking notes for NBW. Cheers all!

 

We spent most of the day up in Pine Bush, NY, working on genealogy. The memorial stone belongs to the sister of my g-g-grandfather (i.e., my g-g-g aunt), who died at 28, unmarried, in 1879. The bottom of the stone is broken and can no longer be secured to the base so we arranged to have it raised so it doesn't disappear under the leaves, etc. We discovered and stood up the small, dark stone behind and to the left of it. I'm fairly certain it belongs to one of my g-g-g grandparents who were Irish immigrants and died in the 1850's.


Home now and drinking a fresh can of Mega Boss from Newburgh Brewing, which I picked up in Pine Bush today. Cheers!

Great find, that stone can be repaired, contact a conservator. Base will be drilled and pinned, stone to match. Set with epoxy and it will look great
