    Noble beast eisenbock
...really attractive mahogany, dark amber appearance
...medium light carbonation with a mildly syrupy body
...aroma is malt, toffee, mildly sweet pastry. Its a bit more complex than im describing
...taste is definitely malty, toffee, doughy with just a bit of sweet pastry.
...overall my description isn't do this one justice. Ots really well done and the higher than usual abv adds a pleasant kick[IMG]

If you ever saw @Resistance88, @RaulMondesi, and me show up to bottle share at the same time, I would suggest calling the FBI.

    Tonight's choice is:

Allagash From Maine with Love #39. A Belgian strong pale ale aged on whole Ethiopian coffee beans. I've been luke warm on this series so let's see about this one.

Pours a deep gold color with a bit of haze. Head was pillowy white foam at first. Falls to a massive ring at the edge with a thin cap over the surface.

Smell is of honey and coffee. Lots of both. Some bready malt. There's a little fruit that struggles through - vaguely peach or apricot but it's hard to pick out. Faint spice.

The taste is really different. The coffee is strong and it's carrying sort of a green/grassy taste. Sweetness is also strong - honey. The fruit is stronger in the flavor and it's pretty clearly apricot. Some bready malt sneaks through. There's a white pepper spice and a touch of resin way at the tail end. Not getting much Allagash yeast signature.

Feel is medium bodied. Smooth carbonation, a little creamy.

Not quite sure what to make of this. It's a very odd, non-Belgian but maybe leaning to Belgian flavor profile going on here. Interesting and a toss up - I like it but wish I had a single. Thinking 3.6 or so and I remain luke warm on the FMWL series.

Jackie os bound by dust imperial stout
    ...solid motor oil black
...light carbonation with an above average body that has a creamy oily feel.
...aroma is boozy and bourbon out front followed by malt, coffee, dark bread and some wood and char
..taste has a touch of sweetness with the bourbon coming threw loudly. Then malt, coffee, char and wood show up nicely.
....overall his beer is extremely aggravating and annoying as I know nothing in the box I gave @Blogjackets can compare to this[IMG]

Gotahold Brewing sun kissed DIPA, 8.0% ABV; 4.23 overall. May be the best beer I've had from these guys ( Nope their Dopple is a little better )

Pours a bright & effervescent gold with a thumb of beige head. Average head retention & better lacing

S: Some catty & piney notes, huge pineapple cake presence once warm

T: Follows the nose, grapefruit, cakeyness & dryness up front. Grapefruit, dankness, cakey notes & dryness as this beer warms up. Finishes cakey with pineapple, grapefruit, pine, lime & dryness

MF: Medium/chewy body, dialed back carbonation; great balance

Nice drinkability nails the style. Loved the flavor profile

The Bruery 11 Pipers Piping Wee Heavy Scotch Ale, 11.0 % ABV; 3.98 overall

Pours an effervescent Mahogany with minimal tan-ish head. Bugger all head retention or lacing

S: Cola, barrel, coriander. Whisky notes once warmed up

T: Follows the nose, plenty of peat, brown sugar, leafy hops, dryness up front. More brown sugar mixing in with the peat & smokeyness, booze bite & leafy hops once warm. Finishes peaty, barrel boozy with brown sugar & leafy hop notes; coriander is on the fringes now

MF: Super restrained carbonation, pretty chewy, warming

Odd duck of a wee heavy, the Coriander is a great disruptor flavor-wise, but a lovely bruiser, none the less. Sipper all the way

Gulf of Mexico from Lucky Envelope in Seattle

I have reluctantly begun drinking these Mexican-style Lagers and they are generally better than actual Mexican beers. So here is another one with corn and ground up corn masa, like they make tortillas from. It's more like a Blonde Ale, with the slightly sweet malt taste and just a hint of something green and possibly hoppy. Aroma of corn, what else? But it's quite quaffable and sudsy in the mouth.
