If they aren't too expensive, I highly recommend it!

Mrs. vurt checked out a bubble machine (no, really) from the Library of Things at our local library, so we are winding down our weekend on the patio with beers and bubbles.

    Here are the bubbles:

    And here's the beer:

The body is pale corn gold and mostly clear with an almost subliminal touch of haze. The head of snowy white foam starts out fluffy and sudsy and recedes to an uneven collar and a thin skin by the middle of the glass. It leaves plenty of nice lacing, as densely textured as a Frank Zappa drum score. The nose is fruity-sweet with notes of green grapes, white wine, orange and lemon peel, and a dusty trace of mixed-berry-flavored chewable antacid tablets. The flavor starts out with tangy mixed citrus and white grape juice. There are notes of orange peel, lemon zest, pears, pineapple, red Twizzlers, and mixed berry jam. Malt is crisp and unobtrusive. Firm bitterness comes through in the middle and lasts through the long, drying, fruit-laden finish. There's also an appealing peppery character in the aftertaste.

Overall, this is a really nice modern West Coast IPA. Recommended for fans of fruit-forward IPAs who aren't afraid of a little bitterness.

Tonight Im in Montreal. So I buy Montreal beer. This is BreWskey and their Vienna Lager , Wien. Beer register 4.7% and was purchased at the Annex.

    Onto my review:

Sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into a clear cup (hotel life)! No date stamping.
The beer pours a clear copper color with creamy eggshell to light khaki head of 2 cm. This foam fades to a thin surface layer soon after the pour. I do get some scattered lattice on my cup.
Aroma is a mix of toasted wheat bread and some toffee. With hints of earthy hops.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with medium carbonation and a smooth texture. The beer drinks really easy on physical traits.
Flavor follows the nose with caramel and some lightly toasted bread. Hints of earthy or an herbal tea hop note.
    Never any hints of ABV.
The beer is fairly average on all fronts, certainly not offensive, but not a stand out experience from a new to me brewery.
Id try something else next time im in Montreal.

    Hi All.
Been super busy but still had some good beers this week. Up in the Bay Area, popped over to Fieldwork in San Mateo and had some great IPA's but then bought an Imperial ESB, yes you read that right. An Imperial ESB and it was delicious.

Crossing the Atlantic on a Tricycle
Amber to bourbon in color with a very slight head that surrenders to a thin film. No lacing.
Aromas are forward with a smooth malt sweetness, a hint of toast, and fruity esters. Some caramel notes chime in timidly as well with a warm feel.
Flavor is really spot on. It's an ESB, but with more depth, variety, and overall warmth, but not in an overly boozy way. Some raisin, some earthy buckwheat. Wow.
Mouthfeel is not chewy, still within the style of a traditional bitter or ESB. Not at all hefty.
    Overall, a super fun surprise.
