I am on a quest to taste beers from all 50 states and would like to find out how to go about compiling a list of breweries by state. Is there a way to sort the BA database for this information?
Might be an easier/better way to do this but the below link takes you to all locations in Alabama defined as breweries. Already alphabetically listed. Can go to each state from this US page and select the Brewery link under Directory or amend s_id in the below URL to the respective two character state code as well I imagine (AK, CT, etc). It looks like you'll probably have to get them one state at a time. Click on PLACES in the top menu bar, check "Brewery," select a state from the drop-down menu, and click Search. You'll get a list of breweries for that state. You could leave the state blank and select United States from the Country drop-down menu. Then you'll get a list of 9,000+ breweries listed alphabetically. You won't be able to sort them by state.
BTW: are you planning to visit breweries in every state or just check off beers from every state? If it's the latter you're after, here's how you can get lists of the top-rated beers in each state: Click Menu under the BA logo. Click Top Rated, then Top 250. Click the drop-down Country menu and select United States. Click the Regions menu, select a state, and Bob's yer uncle. Whichever way you decide to go, good luck!

Yeah I needed a couple of trades to get a few elusive states like West Virginia and maybe one of the Dakotas(?), Alabama, Mississippi
North Dakota and West Virginia were the two hardest for me to get. The NBS BIFs are what got it done for me.
North Dakota shows up on Tavour periodically. There is one brewery that they carry semi-regularly. West Virginia is definitely a trade-only option unless you live nearby.
