Sapporo - Classic

This is not the typical Sapporo, but the Hokkaido-exclusive malt version. Absolutely delicious. This is a proper beer.

 

Bitter Sweet moment for my son and me! Last night out in Tokyo before we fly back home tomorrow.
Went to my new favorite place to eat for some awesome Ramen. With the ramen I had Suntory The Premium Malts...first time trying this. Better than the current rating, but I am easy I suppose.

 

Last place we visited after dinner was a satellite location for West Coast Brewing. If you get the chance try out the Mosaic Mainline, their WCIPA. This baby is very delicious. Hoping to make it hope with 4 of these.. My son tried the Frozen Escape. It is a sour beer but then frozen. Tasted like a pina colada. Not bad but not my cup of tea. Have one to take home to my wife to try, not frozen of course.
Been a great trip and hope to come back again, hopefully soon!

Abashiri - Golden Ale

Drinking this while watching the Japan - Iran hoops game for the Asia Cup. A close game. Normally I'd cheer (hard) for Japan, but the Iran coach is someone I'm familiar with from my youth. Let's see how it goes.

Sad the Japanese trips are ending, but still solid European and domestic travel happening.

Pulled my first 2025-2026 selection, a beer previously released I found mediocre overall (3.25). Digging the new artwork.

Revolution Strawberry Jacket (2025)



First take is heavily Strawberry Crush. Straight Jacket base emerges after warming up, providing more balance, but still prefer the OG SJ over this fruit flavored version even though I love eating strawberries.

Going with a lesser known song from this band featured by @LarryV on Monday. Chicago created Soul Train was not American Banstand, though the song tempo had something to do with the dancing on this track.

Brasserie Knot - Wind IPA

This is a beer from a local craft brewery located in the mountains of Eastern Hokkaido.

Iran is pulling away in the final seconds of the game. I think they have the game in the bag.

Starting easy with a Notch The Mule, American Corn Lager. This isn't grainy at all, quite refreshing.

So we checked out the Monolithic Church - the largest underground church in Europe. Some great frescoes and this carving, up 20’ from the floor, of evil getting slain.,.

 

Very nice stuff.
