It's been 6 months since US made alcohol products have been removed from sale in Ontario, BC, Nova Scotia, Manitoba and Quebec (are there any other bans?). Do you miss any beers? Which ones? Personally there aren't any beers that I specifically miss, but I did enjoy trying beers from Cigar City and Boulevard.
Not really I guess, mainly due to lack of options. Last time was founders porter and BCBS. But given how similar craft beer scene is in the US compared to here, don't really miss it. I'll be interested to see if there will be any changes in purchase habits once shipping beers across provinces is allowed!
The micro breweries currently can’t ship beer across provinces to liquor stores, directly to consumers, or both?
I feel like the LCBO options were getting worse over the years prior to being pulled. I miss the rare gems, like Prairie Artisanal Ales stouts, or Great Devine's YETI, but those were few and far between. I've also ended up drinking less as it is, so it's affected me much less regardless.
Generally speaking no direct to consumer interprovincial sales. Only exception that I know is some New Brunswick breweries selling to Ontario. A very small number of craft breweries are able to sell their product across provinces in government owned stores. Each province has its own outdated and infuriating rules, but at least Ontario allows for shipping within the province. Last I checked this is not a possibility in Quebec for instance.
Shipping within Alberta and BC from craft breweries is definitely a possibility, but inter-provincial shipping sure would be nice.
Not really, about the only thing I figure I could miss would be Stone's Mexican Chocolate Stout and Sam Adams Noble Pils anyways. The former is pretty much due to how rare it is brewed up here and the later is a decent Pilsner and plenty of them are easy to find.
I miss when we got more Stone...I recall getting Arrogant Bastard way back in the day. That is a beer I'd miss and still want to have today (assuming it's not changed in quality).
