Thought I'd try this, somehow two six packs ended up in my cart while I was shopping online. Could be worse, I might have not cared for it. Great thirst quencher when mowing grass in high heat and humidity.

    Revolution Brewing -- West Coast-Hero
West coast-style double India pale ale

    Source: Tavour
Auxiliary vice: Laws Whiskey House -- Four Grain - Barrel Select

Crystal clear, dark gold body; gorgeous tiny bubble carbonation, dense; thick, frothy head, white, loosely sudsy, long-lasting; sticky partial rings and fingers of foam lace the glass. Sweet and dank hop aroma; a bit of edgy spiciness blending with mild fruity esters. Hop bitterness up-front, balanced; pine resin; grapefruit; mild malt base. Medium-bodied; sharp with a nice bite; light stickiness on the palate; a hint of overall dryness.

This is a different iteration of the beer and not the double dry-hopped version (which is a limited release - this one is available year-round per their web site). This superb little number definitely falls into the classic west coast India pale ale tongue-ripper tier. Bold yet balanced; quite enjoyable. I would like to try the double dry-hopped version and see how that compares.

...enjoying the mammatus (i.e., mammatocumulus) clouds this unsettled weather afternoon along the Front Range...

The goat? Some say yes, some say no. However, when offered one, many say yes, and few say no

Focal Banger after dinner beer ...

Made Raspberry jalapeno chicken for dinner. Used one of my homegrown jalapenos and they are finally starting to bring the heat. The one I used had a few striations on it and was really spicy, I loved it.
