    On a totally clear sky and pretty cool Friday morning, I am cracking open La Trappe Quad…!

    Used to buy as of the past months more often their blonde or triple iterations, equally good but I needed the extra kick this one provides.

    Good morning to you, @Shanex, for some reason it's dark here on the West Coast of the other continent. It's time for a Mexican Dark Lager from pFriem Family Brewers in Hood River, OR.

    Pleasant cereal aroma with roasted malt nose. Sudsy feel and lively on the tongue. This seems kind of nondescript at first couple of sips, but more flavor emerges. Some malty sweetness and a roasted grainy taste. Not really any bitterness hop flavor but there is an herbal tang. Overall this is more interesting than the usual Viennas, and more mouthfilling than the blacker Schwarzbiers.

    This is probably my favorite of all Bulgarian macro beers. It's been some time since I last had it (used to drink it a ton as a kid ... erm... as a young adult). I hope it tasted decent after the long trek down under.
