It feels like Fall again this morning. Straight up local juice to start. Enjoy the long weekend. Cheers all.

 

Good day BAs! Off to a gloomy start - overcast and cold - time to move my snapping turtle Dozer back inside for the winter - he can take the cold but it may kick off brumation. Hopefully, I'll finish the wiring project at my son/DIL's house today while they're at the German Festival in Erie.

Today's New Breakfast Beer, from a brewery from which I've had several good examples:



Starburst IPA from Ecliptic Brewing. Received from @2beerdogs in a LIF, thanks Derek! Reviewed 30/08/25 (Review 3572).
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Uncredited label artist. At three months old, the flavors have mellowed and blended to the point that only a mild generic citrus flavor remains with a surprising weakness of the Simcoe hops: there are distinctly no tropical fruits or berries detected.

Just finished a can of Central Waters barleywine 2025 4 year.
Now I'm drink'n a can of Summit Imperial Saga IPA. This might be my closer for the night.

 

I will be crushing these all weekend. $51 on 2 4 packs and a 12. All 3 $17 a whack. Not bad for a long weekend. Will it last?

Having an early start today as a college buddy is hosting the backyard Olympics. 12 good friends all of which I’ve known for 25+ years. The wives and children all went elsewhere. Should be a blast and hope to win some cash as well

Quaffing Ommegang All Hallows Treat.

 

When I visited a friend in FL (a year or two before COVID), we stopped by the brewery. He’s not a beer drinker, but he took us around, and he said his co-workers liked the place. I seem to recall they were pretty good, but it was the last stop and I was more interested in the conversation.

A few years later, I recognized the logo on a TV show, and sure enough, a Food Network show was doing a segment on the food truck outside the brewery. They mentioned the brewery, but the focus was on the food truck (as expected). Good to see they are received well outside of their home turf.

American football, college edition, gets into full swing today. An indication fall is near. Just like seeing beers of this style on the shelf is an indication that summer has started.


The GF found this 4-5 foot long snake skin in the common area beyond our yard. Haven't seen its former owner, yet.
