What beer are you drinking now? #4698

I have generally found that cocktail-inspired beers do not work out very well. At all. But that one sounds intriguing to me.

The GF has informed me that both teams can't lose this early season battle of powerhouses. That really puts a damper on my hopes for the game. I'm going to keep watching, just in case she is wrong.

Grilling done, teriyaki and Caesar dressing chicken kabobs and a reheat on the ribs. Heady as we head into the AC for lunch.

Last pour at Rushing Duck is Sorry ‘Bout Your Bad Luck, an Imperial Stout. This one is a little sweet to me but it may settle out. Single cans are $8 so I can’t justify buying more than 4. But the other new releases are outstanding. If I had to choose a “desert island” brewery, then it would be Rushing Duck. I’ve had so many good times here! Mrs. Mac and I will take a walk along the railroad trail, stop at a local beer store, then she will drive home. Hope to catch some college football later. Cheers from Chester, NY!

BAT cross-post. Deeply Rooted BA barleywine. At 3 Sheeps Brewing's strongman competition. My small friend went out in a blaze of glory. My demise shall mirror his.

 

I don’t know that it is cocktail-inspired. RD is really good at blending high ABV styles. Rooting for the ACC to have a great season, except for Duke, of course.

It's definitely inspired by an Old Fashioned, all the ingredients and name indicate such.

Which I would argue is different than attempting to replicate an Old Fashioned - which may or may not be the case. Either way, it sounds interesting.

I recently saw some videos that are saying UVa might be good in basketball (which is still a few months off, but I have no hopes for football). Sticking with the sport at hand, Syracuse isn't making waves against Tennessee today, so maybe we'll see if something happens later tonight in SC to give the ACC a national boost.
