Fresh Hop fans will be pleased to see that Rev appears to be packaging Farm to Fist this year. I'm looking forward to it.

I work here and didn’t even know we were doing this again. If I’m not mistaken it was last canned during my first year 7 years ago. Loved this beer.

Late to the party on this, but I picked up the Moor x Rev collab Moorvolution. Very nice Polish pils, malty and bready with just a hint of resin at the end.

Goldfinger has put out two, Phase Three one, and the Moor/Rev one, and they all use Polish hops. I'd say the use of Polish hops makes it a Polish Pils.

Pretty much! We use Polish-grown Lubelski hops and they're delicious - really nice herbal notes. I got to serve Moorvolution in Pittsburgh at Barrel & Flow with the Moor's team, and we kicked that keg faster than the V.S.O.J. we brought.

Variants for this weekend....I'm kinda bummed to see Stoopermassive is taking up a slot since that one has been out for a bit. Still will be all around awesome I'm sure; it's been quite a while since I could make a release party.

    THE EXCLUSIVE DRAFT VARIANTS

Our Barrel team is also excited to bring you some exclusive variants, available only at the Taproom during the release:

    Vanille Du Fou:

Single Barrel - This extra malty variation on Deth's Tar was aged in a Barton's 1792 "Sweet Wheat" bourbon barrel for one year, with a double shot of "extreme vanilla" convection-toasted French oak. Vanilla and chocolate rise from the glass with each swirl, and a wave of oak tannin restrains an otherwise assertive expression of chocolatey malt after each sip.

    Vanilla Mocha Deth:

It doesn't come in tall or venti, and you can't substitute soy or oat milk. If you ask real nice the bartender might misspell your name on the cup though (not really). Dialing up the playfulness and accessibility, this variant tips its cap to all four October 2025 Deep Wood packaged releases in a single glass.

    Stoopermassive Reserve:

This single barrel of extra-malty Deth's Tar rested on fourteen pounds of freshly roasted whole bean El Salvadorian coffee from Dark Matter for twenty four hours, producing a strong cold brew coffee out of beer rather than water. This über aggressive coffee treatment is balanced by heaps of chocolatey malt, providing subtle mocha vibes without the nibs. And yes, it contains caffeine.

    Variants sound dope!
I'm on the fence about Vanilla Deth tho. In past it was so bland, I'm not sure if it's worth the investment. This year's edition appears to have French oak to boost vanillin, and hopefully extra vanilla beans too. Anyone excited about this year's edition?

I agree that Vanilla Deth has been bland. I'm in no way suggesting that I am the measure by which other people should make purchases, but it was such a let down in the past that I probably won't ever buy it again unless I see a variety of very-different-from-the-past reviews about the vanilla level. I also don't expect them to change it (much) - that's what they are going for. I get that some people like the stout to have some subtle vanilla, but if I am going after a vanilla stout, I want it to be a vanilla stout, but not a stout with a hint of vanilla.

The vanilla has definitely been pretty mild in the past and I assume it'll be the case again this year. There was a description of the mocha vanilla in a previous email that basically said that both the vanilla and cacao in that one will pretty mild and not over the top. I appreciate nuance and drinkability in my 4 packs but I still wish they'd go back to being a bit more extreme with the variants.

Anyone have the Dark Matter Revolution barrel aged coffee before and have an opinion? I'm just assuming they've released some version in the past.

I think that was the case with last year's coconut deth as well. It tasted like someone blended 25% coconut stout into 75% deth's tar. Luckily I like deth's so it was still a good beer but if you're being more mindful of your beer dollars you might not wanna pay a premium for a hardly noticeable flavor

This is a really good point that I think we all kind of talk around but don't always address directly. There are so many great beers out there that when I choose a beer it is fairly deliberate. Gone are the days of, "I'm going to go to the store and try X". So, when I grab a beer, it's, "Oh, I want that specific flavor", whether it's a fully drinkable delicious DT or Jackie Os BA stout, or a thicker HA or SP stout, or a pastry-style 'punch in the face' flavor. For that reason, I think a lot of the nuanced beers are less desirable to me, because I don't really seek that middle ground. If I want a neat BA stout, I go for that, and if I want a flavored BA stout, I go for that. Back when availability was much more limited, I was much more keen on the idea of having a delicious stout with hints of coconut, or vanilla etc. I'm probably even more choosy, since I drink a bit less than the average BA.
