I had it a couple years ago and thought it was terrible. Bravus makes an NA Okto that I liked but I couldn't find it this year. I'll certainly try Sierra Nevada's if I can find it.

I want Sam Adam’s to make Imperial White again. Yes, it was an abomination in many senses, but I dug that beer.

The thing that stood out to me the most about it besides the DMS was the appearance. It was far lighter than I was expecting it to be despite having marzen listed on the label ( even lighter than the usual copper we get from US breweries doing tweener Oktoberfests) and in that respect kind of reminded me of Rothaus' Eis Zapfle. Unlike the Rothaus though it was also cloudier than any Oktoberfest import I've ever had. If I had just seen the pour without knowing anything about the beer I'd be inclined to guess it was some US brewery's latest hazy IPA or maybe some kind of kellerbier at best.

For $8.99 a 4-pack, I don't regret trying this one, especially cause it's always exciting to see a new import option this time of year. That being said, this is likely a one-and-done purchase for me as it doesn't measure up to my favorite heavy hitters.

Favorite local brewery and probably my favorite of their beers; Roaring Table Festbier.

Smooth, bready, just the right herbal hop balance.

I finally had the chance to grab some of the Tucher Festbier. Distro seems sort of spotty around me.

While drinkable enough, this one seems to lean more on bitter, herbal hopping than a good malt/hop balance. HB still my favorite import Festbier.

    Not Weihenstephan? Not malty enough?

    Too expensive.

But seriously, no. It's a little too light for me.
