Can confirm the 9/2 or maybe it’s 9/3 Green is really really good.

citra all ways is pretty good (if you like citra).

Nomad is the best lager of the handful that I picked up. Whisper is second.

Going to my first concert up at Deerfield tonight, anyone have tips and tricks? I'll probably get up there around 6ish, show's supposed to start at 7.

I'm REALLY curious what a Godspeed You! Black Emperor crowd is going to be like at Tree House...

It's really not a bad walk from yankee to treehouse when it's light outside. At night i would NOT do the walk. there seemed to be tons of shuttles

There were lots of food trucks outside in the venue...I wish I had taken a look before ordering slices, even though I've lived in boston for half my life, my heart lies in springfield and they had a white hut truck when I was there.

I'm somewhat of a sound snob, or just snob in general, and the best sound for me was in front of the soundboard...usually the case but very much so for me at treehouse.

I know you said you won't get there until 6, but just for posterity, they shut the place down at I think 3PM and don't reopen until the venue opens. You can only get in from that point if you have a ticket

    Update!

The Godspeed show was incredible. The band was amazing, they had a guy doing visuals with four film projectors from the soundboard which was really cool. Sound was perfect right in front of the board too.

I'll definitely be back for concerts next summer.

They're pumping out these "Patient x" beers now. Looks like Whisper saw some extended lagering time, Rover. Went last week but have a feeling I may may it back again this week for those + the new Festbier.

I'm planning on trying to make it to Treehouse Woodstock for "Woodstock Westie". That one sounds delicious!

I know this thread primarily sticks to the classics when it comes to their hops, but has anyone tried The Mammoth? I love a good old-school rye IPA and that hop bill makes it sound even better.

I had one this afternoon and it's very tasty. I think there's some Cascade there in the dry hop but not sure what else is going on. It's got a great nose that's different from a lot of other TH DIPAs. I liked it enough to buy a 4pk I wasn't planning on.

    Couple questions:

1.) Are the canned cocktails good? Like, "pay the $2 more than Cutwater for a four-pack" good?
2.) Any buzz on the pale ales (Bison, Fastest Time, Citra Evolution)?
3.) Their stouts have always been too sweet for my taste, but what about the bottled barrel-aged stouts?

Their BA stouts/barleywines skew sweeter (and thicker, as well) than many (especially when compared to Hill Farmstead's, for example). That said, I think they are phenomenal, to my taste. The Amburana treatment in Tree of Perception came out really well and prominent. I picked up both the TSBTs but haven't cracked them yet.

    1. Yes, surprisingly pretty good. I tried to answe this in another post as I feel most canned cocktails from pretty much all breweries are good, but it’s still a canned cocktail. They can all only be so good. Not sure why some ass had an issue with my answer that I stand by. But I digress

    2. Bison was fucking great and I came back to get a four pack(had just tasted it and stupidly didn’t purchase) and it’s gone…Citra was fantastic and a full mouthfeel for the abv. Taste is excellent. Fastest time is ok. Nothing epic.

    3. Stick to the barrels or single shot. You can’t go wrong with the blended barrel flavor. But I also don’t mind sweet so you may want to pick and choose carefully. We did have one of the Truth coconut (or whatever the $50 bottles were) you would probably pour it out over the sweet. Which is your right to not like and do! It was a little rich for me

My wife loves the Transfusion cocktail, which we are going back to Saratoga Saturday to restock!

I’ll add that this beer is fantastic. It’s not really hazy, more of an unfiltered Rye beer look and feel. But make no mistake, the hops shine through in bittering, west coast’ish spades. The rye spice is extremely subtle at most.

This is not the beer for anyone who found TH through Haze or Green and wouldn’t have experience craft prior.

I was looking forward to getting a pour of that on the concert in Deerfield on Monday, but they had a very limited taplist, and I didn't want to have to wait to grab an order of cans post show. Can't win 'em all.

Show was expectedly fantastic but I was really, really impressed with Treehouse as a host/venue. All those Adirondack chairs, the spaciousness of the grounds, the non-marked up food and beer, the unexpectedly good sound system, and the happy/friendly employees.

I'm sure there's more to it, but it just felt like Treehouse guys thought "wouldn't it be sick if we had a music venue?" and went ahead and made one with an eye towards giving everyone a good experience rather than simply wringing some more money out of the clientele.

I'm not even a particular fan of Treehouse beer these days, but I can't help but root for them as a business. Those bastards really seem to be living the dream. Golf Course? check. Place on the beach? Check. Concert venue? Check.

How long until they have their own version of Busch Gardens?

ETA: I agree with @TheMattJones88 that the beer variety was surprisingly small. That would be my only quibble. It seemed like they were trying to keep the average ABV down too which, fair enough.

Beer was marked up a smidge. Pours are usually $9, they were $11 at the show, which I mean, still not awful.

But yeah, definitely going back. And funny enough, I have the new GY!BE record on my turntable currently. A little bit of lightweight heartwarming Saturday morning music...

Ah, good to know. Still a good price as you say (in this context anyway).

And yeah the new album is great (lightweight indeed lol). I generally like all the post reunion stuff just as much as the old shit.
