    Robert the Bruce from 3 Floyds. 12 fl oz bottle picked up at Horrocks Market, Grand Rapids, MI, 23/08/25 - $ 2.63 (including tax and deposit)/$ 0.219/fl oz. Reviewed 18/09/25, review 3590.
    Final impression and summation: 4 Credited art work! Decent take on a Scottish style ale – could use a bit more smoke.

    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

    Deep, dark, mahogany brown pour, looks opaque in the glass; thick, dense and creamy light tan head, very long-lasting. Caramel and vanilla scents on the nose; light baker's chocolate. Amazing taste; rich dark chocolate flavor dancing with a mild bourbon touch and cinnamon; dark and dried pitted fruits. Immensely dense and luscious mouthfeel; rich and velvety on the palate; sticky; understated boozy warmth courses through the residual sugars.

    I don't know if this is the same beer that was added to BA as 'Barrel Aged American Dark Strong', but the neck label and body label clearly state the name as 'Barrel Aged American Dark Ale'. And whatever one may want to call this beer, one thing is for sure: it is a killer example of dark barrel aged beer done right. Everything seems well-balanced. This is a beer to seek out and enjoy if you can still find it.

    Back here at THE LANDING PAD Virtual Bar ....I see. :sunglasses: Gotta say that this beer is blowing my mind. The base IPA is salaciously devine and the punkin' spass is gottdang rat on. Mmmm Hmm. No wonder the guy at the watering hole had so much to say about it. I think mainly he was po'd because he'd ordered 4 cases and got only 2.

    Anyways, I can do a beer now as I've repaired my 6 ft privacy fence. I'll check on it once a yr now :grin: Cedar and 12 yrs old.


    SOUTHERN TIER pumking Imp Pumpkin Ale 8.6% The spice is so well placed and the beer is the balls. Spooky good:beers: and the 8.6% is buried...alive!!! BWAAAA HAAA HAAA...Go get some!
