Yes, my brother in Vegas shared one of each from the pack Jack mentioned last Fall. He also bought it at Costco, where his wife works.

I used the Sierra Nevada beer finder, and it’s not available around here (3 7/11s show up for Vegas, but I’d guess those are stale updates or 1 year old beers).

Wish SN would ship beer to Illinois, as I would have ordered their wet hop Northern Hemisphere beer advertised in their recent email, along with more throughout the year. Celebration still drops here, but I don’t enjoy it as much as many fanatics here on BA.

They ship to PA and several other states, but not NJ or ILL, with free shipping for $100.

Super Bock from Unicer União Cervejeira S.A.

An interesting name for a beer which is most definately NOT a bock.

Poured a 355ml brown bottle into a pint glass. A scant one finger head on a clear gold. The head soon diminished to a thin layer. Some patchy lacing.

Malts in the nose. Some spice. A weak flavour but smooth and light. Moderately sweet. minimal hop flavour.

A light body and moderate carbonation. Overall a decent European Pale Lager. Not very distinct but not objectionable. True to the style and a solid hot weather quencher.

Jon, folks also reported last year buying this pack at Total Wine & More stores. Maybe check your local Total Wine shop for availability?

    Cheers!

MKE Brewing Louie’s Resurrection. An imperial amber ale, aged in bourbon barrels. Courtesy of @Danmullens1. The look is the darkest brown color possible. It is thick for an amber ale. There was no foam. The smell is apricot, caramel, vanilla, brown bread, milk chocolate, and molasses. The taste is caramel, vanilla, Robitussen, milk chocolate, marshmallow, burnt toast, maple, and honey. It is sweet, but bitter, with a boozy finish. The mouthfeel syrupy, thick, full, and robust, with medium carbonation. Overall, this is an explosive version of one of Wisconsin's best amber ales. It is a unique experience. I really like it. Thank you, @Danmullens1!

Generally it's better to declare beer being being carted across the border. Unless you have a trunk full, you should get through without any problems. Not declaring alcohol could be an issue if you happen to meet a less pleasant officer. Note that CA limits alcohol imports from Mexico

Well that sounds spectacular, and right in your wheelhouse. Bonus points for fresh Amarillo hops (one of my favorites).

Covert Artisan Festbier Lager, 5% ABV. Pours light gold, with a 2+ finger white head that left no lacing. Aroma is sweet malt. Taste follows with a slight hop bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

One of the better Oktoberfests I've had. Sweetness shades the bitterness, which I like.

Brewers notes : Eagerly anticipated each September, our Festbier is brewed using a traditional recipe of Vienna and Pilsner malt and Hallertau Mittlefruh hops. The result is an exceptionally well-balanced beer with notes of light toast and biscuit. A touch of sweetness with a clean dry finish.

Clear copper liquid , active carbonation streams , three finger fluffy off white foam cap , occasional lacings

    Aroma is malts, biscuity

    Taste is malty, toast, biscuity

Clean, crisp mouthfeel , hop kiss on the finish

    Good beer

Not sure if I'll have another new brew tomorrow or not but leaning towards not. I'll try and check out everyone else's NBW posts over the next day or 2. Hope everyone has a great rest of their weekend!

    Good afternoon NBW
I ventured to a semi local brewery today which I only do under lure of Oktoberfest. I scored big as they had canned a smoked Märzen version as well.
    The Brew Bridge Rauch Märzen

16oz can purchased today at the brewery with a 9/15/25 stamp on the pack 5% ABV. The beer pours bright dark amber with light khaki head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. No lacing. The aroma is moderate in strength featuring meaty, hammy campfire smoked malt. The taste is semisweet toasted malt that tastes like it was smoked over a dozen hams on hardwood. No discernable hop flavor and minimal bitterness. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Cleanly lagered. Overall, about as good as a non-Bamberg smoked lager as I've had.

    Cheers all!

Nice mug. I'd like to have been in Bitburg in 70 to drink Lowenbrau Fest beer. Were you? In the 70s era, regular helles was a rare experience. I can hardly imagine how good the fest beer would have been.

My first post highlighted fresh hop season now I join Oktoberfest season. A beer I grabbed in Connecticut on our way back from Vermont. Many CT regulars post about Counter Weight so I wanted to give this one a try.

Had about an hour to myself so I sat on the deck and wrote up the following…

Counter Weight - Fest Bier (Festbier 5.9%)

Pours a beautiful brass, mostly clear; slight chill haze; white head, little sudsy.

Nose is big on rich pale malt; very aromatic, fresh bread, little doughy, goldened crust; lightly peppery hops with wisps of grass.

Taste is hearty; malt front and center, big time fresh bread, crust and all; some dough; mix of peppery spice and earth on the finish; linger is grass like.

Medium body; some heft, residual sweetness, quick to vanish upon swallowing; smooth, light hops linger on the tongue with light but firm bitterness; alcohol is there but well integrated.

I enjoyed this festbier, lots of big pale malt nature; good balance of hops and very drinkable considering the heft and abv. This is a really good beer, preference for me always leans lighter but this is a prime example of a really good pale festbier. This beer to me would be better suited to 12 oz.

That’s it for me new beer wise this weekend, hope to review one or two next weekend with you all. Looking forward to tonight’s and tomorrow’s posts. Cheers everyone :beers:

I had a little time for a mid-afternoon libation and decided to grab what I think is the last of my cottage country haul from a few weeks back. This is Pale Ale from Haliburton Highlands Brewing Company. It described as a hybrid pale ale using English malts and American ‘citrus’ hops. Canned at the end of August.

Pours a bright copper with light head that dissipates to almost nothing within a minute. It has the appearance of negligible carbonation.

Bready aromas with a hint of caramel and a very light, broad citrus character hiding in behind.

The malt hits the tongue first. Brown bread, brown sugar and some floral notes with the citrus from the hops playing a supporting role.

Medium body with more carbonation than the appearance of the beer would have one believe.

I enjoyed this. A malty pale ale with light hoppy punch. I’d buy it again.
