So, working at a local event my local brewery, Gravel Bottom Brewery began some 10 years ago now and I had the pleasure of serving their excellent porter, Rix Robinson, to the masses.
This batch is better than either Founder’s or Bell’s porters, so smooth and chocolate forward with just enough coffee to keep it from being too sweet. Just a great porter.
    Cheers!

Covert Artisan Covertuccino Imperial Coffee Porter, 10% ABV. Pours dark black with a one-finger light-brown head that left no lacing. Aroma is strong cappuccino and chocolate. Taste follows, plus nuts and vanilla. Decent mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

Hello Darkness XO from River North. Imperial porter aged 23 months in Colorado whiskey barrels. 14% ABV.

The nose is definitely dominated by notes of bourbon. Vanilla, toffee, malts, bread, and some dark fruit.

The taste is really nice. Loads of black licorice come through here. Like...a lot. Mixed in is some bourbon, toffee, dark chocolate, molasses, umami, and maybe a slight note of soy sauce. Definitely becomes more approachable as it warms.

Overall, I'm really digging this. Different for a porter, but unique in its own way. Perhaps a little thin on the body.

I’ve always heard good things about this beer, but have never had it until now. Fantastic stuff- it rivals the classics from Great Lakes and Deschutes. I’ll need to try a side by side. What a great reason to drink more porter!

I’m ashamed to say I didn’t know this thread existed. I had a very good (IMHO) porter today while on a work trip to Orlando.

Pours a dark mahogany brown with a creamy tan head that lingers and provides ropes of lacing. Beautiful porter.

The nose features roasty malts, some coffee, and a bit of caramel, all of which are replicated on the taste. Delicious.

The mouthfeel is surprisingly rich and creamy. This is really good, IMHO, and a beer I’d have in my beer fridge on the regular if I had access to it.

Fuck me, I’m jealous, I wish I was in England drinking real ale, but you gotta get some Landlord, especially before you have another chocolate stout or black IPA!

I asked the guy at pub about it and he laughed and said , " oh you're lookin for the Timmy Ts?!?! The Timmy Ts are ya? 85% of places that serve it atore it like shite and the other 15% aren't worth going to":joy:
If i come across it , i still haven't cuz im stayin away from the touristy areas which seem to be where they have it( The Harp in Covent Garden and them[that area is a shit show] ) I'll try it but I've had about 5 or 6 other Milds, Smalls and Bitters that i haven't posted . The Black IPA i had on cask has definitely been one of the highlights though..

Drekker Sticky Digits S'mores Porter, 6.5% ABV. Pours black with a two-finger dark-brown head that left no lacing. Aroma is chocolate, marshmallow, and graham. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, and graham, slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Not a pastry porter. Decent mouthfeel, overall very good to excellent.
