Even at only 12oz a 24% ABV beer is going to have me out of commission until like the next afternoon. These super high barrel counts and alcohol content feel excessive

To tie it back to Side Project I think Cory has talked about the difficulty getting the right flavor out of triple barrels and how they often use them for blends but it can be overpowering on its own. I imagine quad/penta oaked is even harder to wrangle

Yeah the best deals with devils I’ve had were the double oaked honestly

Now the Blessed is up to to the 20% threshold. Was perfect at 14% when it first came out. Also the perfect balance of coconut

It looks like Shin Shin will be a 375ml? Any idea what this will retail for?

Gold Medal for Marble Lions at GABF.

Hopefully the takeaway is more peanut butter stouts, not more banana beer.

Has anyone heard back on the Silent Barrel lottery for Thursday? I still haven’t booked a place to stay for next weekend with the hopes I make the cut.

That would put it in WV BBT territory. Also Grand Cru Derivation, but we know what an abomination that was.

I would imagine if you haven't heard you weren't picked. They'd only be picking 20 people.

First year in LC. Are the bottle / draft pours during LC party sessions generally the same? Hoping to get some Raji BBT!

I interpreted it as well that there is going to be a generous limit.

I made the SB cut but will not be unable to attend. You can have my spot if you want and are able to attend. One caveat is you have not attended a silent pick before to be eligible. Blurb from email below.

“This next Silent Barrel pick is this Thursday, October 16th. This Barrel Pick will take place at Side Project Brewing with Cory from 1:30pm - 3pm. Following the Pick, we will head to Side Project Pizza for some snacks and then to The Cellar for our Thursday tasting with Karen.

We understand that many of you do not live in town, or have jobs that you aren't able to leave in the middle of a Thursday. So, if you are unable to attend this barrel pick, we are offering to have you invite another La Coterie member (that has not already attended a Silent Barrel Pick) in your place. If you give your spot to another member who can attend, your name will go back in the lottery pool of LC members for a future SB Pick.

Apparently Shin Shin is a "public" beer like the candles series. Still not sure why they can't put some aside for the LC's, many of which don't live in STL area and depend on proxies anyway.

I enjoy that the email says “this has always been a public beer” when by definition it hasn’t been anything yet because this is the first bottling.
