Spruce Tip Silk Porter from Hoppin’ Frog. Four-pack of 16 fl oz cans picked up at the brewery, 16/10/25 - $23.38 (Including tax and tip)/$ 0.365/fl oz. Reviewed 21/10/25, review 3616.
Final impression and summation: 4 Uncredited art work, basically the same as most of their cans. Very drinkable porter, slightly on the sweet side. The spruce tips make the flavor uniquely American, one might even say revolutionary. Fruit Fly ignored.

A decade or so ago I brewed a spruce tip porter using blue spruce and molasses. HF does it better.

 

I love spruce tip beers — will never forget a Spruce Tip Ale (APA) brewed one-off at Snowy Mountain Brewery in Saratoga, WY. Had just finished a backpack trip in the very mountains where they gathered the spruce tips!

 

Drekker Pineapple/Mango/Lime BRAAAAAAAAins Double Fruit Smoothie Sour, 6.4% ABV. Pours murky orange with a ring of white bubbles that left no lacing. Aroma is pineapple, mango, lactose, lime, and vanilla. Taste follows, quite sweet, some zest bitterness, light tartness, salt on the close. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.
