Doesn't look like much, but after bar hopping a little got a burger at an old school burger stand...Someburger for takeout

Back at my courtyard, with a great smash burger, and Saint Arnold Eclipse IPA. My pupper, Moe, is jealous cause I'm out with some food...he will be out afterward though

    Maybe some tunes later...will see...

Warsteiner’s no stranger around the Beermeister32 household. Their fantastic Pilsner is one of the regulars in my rotation from the expansive and temperature-contolled Beermeister32 Bierhoard. If I had to guess, I’d put their Pilsner (spelled in the Northern German variant "Pilsener" in this case) maybe somewhere around 5 or 6 on my favorite Pilsner list. That of course behind classics like Paulaner, Trumer (out of their Berkeley, California location), Rothaus Tannenzäpfle, Ayinger and even the new Alesmith Anvil Pilsner, a freshly released modern-day classic out of San Diego. Just like your kids, it’s hard to pick a favorite (well most of the time!)

I’ve been on a 28-beer tour this month. I’ve had Märzens, and then Märzens put into service as classic Oktoberfests and of course Festbiers. These brews have spanned the globe from Europe, to the Eastern shores of the US to California. All are designed to slake the thirst of Oktoberfest Lagerheads everywhere!

Since 1753, Warsteiner has been cranking out tasty brews like their 2025 Oktoberfest. It’s a classic alright, great orangey color, perfect head and lacing, and check out that clarity! Perfection!

Flavor is excellent too, however I find myself vacillating between the true Oktoberfest and Festbier styles on this one. It seems to me that this one was brewed to split the difference between a classic Oktoberfest and the current Festbier styles. Best of both worlds! Prost!

For a beer that is so widely-distributed, this is really good. Have to give Sierra Nevada a lot of credit. Can't wait for Celebration cans next week!

Hidden Hand Neverbright: Fresh Hop Black IPA (Citra, HBC 472, Centennial, and Simcoe fresh hops). My biggest complaint with black IPA is that it can bend more towards the roasty malt character than the hops and ends up coming off more like a hoppy porter/stout. This one doesn't fall victim to that and has a wonderful balance between hop and malt, with the hops staying forward. Hops bring spritzy navel orange flesh and peel, tangerine, floral, grapefruit, dank, and pine resin. Malt brings roast, cocoa powder, some coffee bean, and toasted brown bread. The resinous fresh hop character really elevates this one. Outstanding.
