Kind of annoying that Rye bbt will sit in this package for a while but LC never got the option to buy a solo bottle.

If anyone will be at the Cellar at any point on Thursday and wants to split some bottles, let me know.

Well, I don't know how many times we can get excited over vanilla BA stouts. I'm sure they'll be good but, far from exciting at this point.

Long time listener, first time caller....
Actually I stop into SP pretty much every time I pass through StL, and planning to do the same again in a few days. This will be my first time where it aligns with anything special (cellar anni party). What can I expect as far as to-go bottles are concerned? I've seen the event details, but are the bottles pretty much scooped up at open, or will they last a little while into the day? Exact arrival time into the city is tbd at this point, but early afternoon shouldn't be a problem. Do people line up for this? Specifically Friday and Saturday for me.

Beer is dead so you might be fine.

I wasn't there at all last year, but I was part of the group of folks who were the very first in line (for optimal Cellar bar seating) on Saturday morning in 2022 and 2023; we were there before 8 AM both years.

While there will definitely be a line at open Saturday, with the Candles draft pours being split between inside and outside (along with not knowing exactly how the 12 Candles bottle sales will be handled) there's no good way to forecast how this year will go, if you'll have to be in a line before open to have any chance at to-go bottles, etc.

Any vibes- or sales-based observation implies it won't be as much of a zoo as the past few years, but...‍ *shrug*

Yeah - I was there last year - I would say it was...tempered. I was in line most days to get the seating, but the lines were never crazy enough that it was problematic (other than Sunday - the line to get into the bar to get a draft of OWK 2018 was a little crazy), but the other days, it was pretty tame. Stout Week was similar in February.

It's stout week if you make it stout week...Which would be 52x per year if I lived near SP

Thanks for the input! My thought was to just get the Friday bottle and then same on Saturday. If I get the Candles great, if not I won't lose sleep. Then I'll enjoy whatever is available on draft. Being out of area it's all a treat to me so won't be picky. Just wasn't sure how early I needed to target being there on Friday. I could be there at 1pm, but would rather late afternoon/early evening. But fomo on the bottles if I get there too late. I don't get much opportunity to bring SP bottles back home to share.
