    This is tough to get through. Left in my cooler by one of my rugby teammates. Silver Bullet to my tast buds.

    Dire Consequences, a black Barleywine brewed with vanilla, molasses, and holiday spices. Not exactly a traditional example of the style, but still quite tasty.

    Very proud of the Toronto Blue Jays: They gave everything they could, in the baseball playoffs, and gained a great many fans worldwide as a result. They definitely have the nucleus to get back to the Fall Classic next year (now, if maybe the Detroit Lions and Toronto Maple Leafs could take lessons from them?). Regardless, it was a marvelous weekend, out here in McGregor, with my lady Pamela and her two extraordinary cats. First, for today, my sixteenth of Toronto, Ontario's Bellwoods Brewery's wares--from their delectable Jelly King Fruited Sour Ale Series, their 5.6% Raspberry & Mango. It's shown, poured, with articles on the cult classics The Omega Man (Boris Sagal, 1971) and Orpheus (Jean Cocteau, 1950). I both have, and have seen, both films--and Orpheus is one of my very favourite surreal experiences, alongside the work of Luis Bunuel, to be sure...

    [IMG]

    Next, it's my sixth beer from London, Ontario's Forked River Brewing Company--their 4.5% Bravo! Session IPA...

    Finally for this overcast and windy Monday, it's my sixth brew from Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario's Muddy York Brewing Co.--their 4.7% Porter...

    The three beers are shown bookending articles on the cult classics Princess Mononoke (Hayao Miyazaki, 1997); The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey (Vincent Ward, 1988); The Nightmare Before Christmas (Henry Selick, 1993); and Night Watch (Timur Bekmambetov, 2004), for no particular reason...

    [IMG]

    Tomorrow: Three more new beers to experience and be captivated by, from the following breweries:
    --Clifford Brewing Co. (Hamilton, Ontario; my fourth of their wares);
    --Heineken (Zoeterwoude, Netherlands; my fourth); and
    --Henderson Brewing Co. (Toronto, Ontario; my seventh)...

    Have a great rest of your day, and cheers...from The Responsible Beer Drinking Club! =)

    Ultra clear, tobacco brown pour; reddish-brown tone in the glass; dense and lively carbonation; thick and sudsy off-white head, long-lasting. Mild malt nose; a trace of caramel; very subtle hint of spiciness. Beautifully balanced and nuanced taste; simple yet satisfying lightly dark malt baseline with a most subtle sense of grain char and hop bitterness. Medium-light body; smooth and silky on the palate.

    This no frills dark Mexican lager exudes nice balance with a deceptively easy-going complexity.

    A delicious gift from a runner friend.

    Also, a new style for moi... Braggot. Nice!

    Seems very seasonally appropriate as well.

    Happy Monday, BAs! Today's pick is Brock Street's Traditional Irish Red, and it's alright. Apparently this brewery is closing up shop in the very near future, so this is likely the last time I'll be able to fill this glass with one of their beers. Ah well, that's the way she goes. Cheers!

    @MutuelsMark I am so sorry for your loss. This one is for Zusi.
