    I can't recall how long it has been since I've rated two or more BeerAdvocate beer rating categories '5', but the smell, taste and mouthfeel of this beer unequivocally merit these scores. If the initial head (relatively huge for a big beer like this one) would have easily been a 4.5 (in my book). But, hey. It's the beer and how it impacts you that counts. For me, the incredible density (smell, taste, mouthfeel) and complexity (smell and taste) and a near singular dark beer drinking experience marks this beer as a world-class experience. And, yes, I truly wish I would have bought more than a single bottle of this beer.

    Good Sunday afternoon, BAs! I'm falling back in love with Magnify. Since they opened the brewery in South Jersey, the OG location in Fairfield has been sort of a step child but the last couple of IPA releases up here have been really good. Disco Fries is a collaboration with Other Half and is hopped with Citra, Motueka, Nectaron, and Motueka SubZero Hop Kief.

    For the rest of the country, Disco Fries are New Jersey's unique version of poutine except with melted mozzarella instead of cheese curds and a thicker brown gravy. It's a staple in our diners and great late-night comfort food after drinking a lot of beer.

    I can tell we're about to get our first real cold snap. Wind has been howling all afternoon and temp is dropping already. High of 38°F and low of 25°F tomorrow, which more our typical January. Oh well, can't stop winter from coming. Enjoying a Weihenstephaner Festbier.

    I got a lot of beer in my fridge right about now. The winter seasonal beers always get me. Not to mention leftover festbiers. But also have a trip to Tree House over Thanksgiving and Beer Advent following close on its heels. Best get to drinking! Erdinger Oktoberfest. Cheers!

    Got a little bit of light snow here overnight. Mama Mia! 22F this morning.
    Painting complete!!. Maybe a couple of tiny touch up spots. I get good mileage from a simple 2.5" sash brush. Painted for 11 hrs ystrdy to reach the acme of forward momentum and to finish this job is very deserving of a beer or rather beers. Man, my beers tasted soooo good last night but after four of 'em I was knackered. Damn near hit 25 pages here as well. Woo hoo! ><>< Yeah, I know. Sometimes I have a preamble to my 1st post of the day. :nerd::crazy_face: Join me please as I wash it all away with a Hammerheart Dunkelwald Smoked Dunkelweizen. @Todd should get this brewery in on the next BA Beer Box. Cheers!!

    I'm a big fan of Schlafly Pumpkin Ale so I wanted to try the vanilla variant. It's fine but I'll stick with the original (once I drink the other 5 bottles of vanilla, of course). Cheers!
