After finally tracking down a bottle of Faro, I joined the esteemed ranks of those who have tried one beer in each style on BA this week. Huzzah! My life has continued as before, in spite of this life changing event. So: my proposal—a spin-off Society badge or indicator, or maybe just an expanded karma ranking, for those who complete the entire slate of styles. (With subsequent levels for those who have 2 beers in each style, and so on.) Something to chew (or sip) over.

Congratulations! I have 4 styles to go. Sucks, because I've had 6 of the most rated gruits, DFH Sahtea, and DeuS before I joined BA, and the idea of a milkshake IPA disgusts me. But now I can't find any of them.
That was my experience with Lindemans faro and DeuS. I jumped for joy upon finding my faro a week ago!
A great achievement indeed. Now you'll just have to come up with new challenges like hunting down top beers in each style or getting different country and state ticks. I know that Todd intends to add more styles so the style hunt may continue as well. I'm always on the hunt for new countries and new breweries. That's been keeping my beer journey interesting. Several times now, I've achieved 'all styes', and I've lost that distinction when they've added new styles. The most recent was when they deleted a style (Sahti), and it was the one I had left, so I achieved 'all styles' again. What do you do about badges? Do you get multiple when you achieve 'all styles' several times, get it once and keep it forever, or do you lose the badge when new styles are added?
Congrats! But don’t rest on your laurels, you only have beers from 43 states! (I also have great fun chasing these obscure completionist tasks)
Huzzah! Congrats! I never created an achievement for rating a beer from every style, because I always plan on adding/updating styles. That said, I also plan on doing another Beer Karma overhaul in the near future as I no longer like the way it's handled using the forum's achievement system; locks us in and has limitations. So...maybe we can explore something then.
@elNopalero sorry I missed the opportunity to congratulate you on achieving 'all styles'. IMHO this achievement is one of the most important on the site, since it promotes beer knowledge and advocacy. Congratulations!
One tricky part with attaching a badge to any sort of completion level comes from the fact that they do change. Perhaps a yearly indicator might be more apt as the changes roll out. I don’t expect the number of states to change anytime soon (sorry, DC) but that could be another candidate for a badge. (I also assume that is linked to a karma level up.) I hit the style completion and my 4,000th review at the same time. I like nice rounded numbers!
@Todd How difficult would it be to add check mark next to styles we have tried under beers-styles just like top rated-beer by styles?
With the current setup I think this makes a badge more appropriate than karma. The badges can be on or off based on set criteria (e.g., whether your society membership is paid up). Seems like it would just be a matter of querying completed style count and applying that to badge status (if the number matches the total styles you get the badge).
