    Boatswain Double IPA, Rhinelander Brewing, Monroe Wisconsin, 8.4% ABV.

    I'm not feeling it with this one folks. Looks and tastes oxidized to me.

    I guess that's the risk when you're buying $1.00 IPA's - makes me think somebody at the store was wise to it! Woof...

    First time with a Drake’s Headzo. 2024 version aged in port, cognac, and rye barrels. This is sublime. Oily, complex, clean Fremont 5000 meets Anchorage ADWTD triple oaked sort of good. Really digging everything about this. I only bought one, thinking it might be some aggressive, fusol thin ale, but damn it’s excellent.

    Not the ideal meal for sure. But sardines are actually a good healthy meal. Just not enough.

    Moderately cloudy, dark copper pour and body; dense, slow-rising carbonation; lasting head, dense, two-finger thick. Malt-forward nose; caramel; a bit musty; muted suggestion of spiciness. So-so taste; weakened, almost watery caramel sweetness; stronger Fall weather spiciness; cinnamon and nutmeg come to mind. Medium-heavy body;

    Well, my first experience with a bland winter warmer ale. There is no oomph to anything overall.

    Another one of these.

    Post Images is a bit weird. After I press the proceed button it goes blank. Then I press the back button and all works.

    Power just came back on after about 1.5 hours. Having a Narwhal as my closer. @mickyge - the Bully worked great today to clear up this mess. Like shaving with a razor :grin:

    Have A good Tuesday BA. Read over half of Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe about the Irish Troubles over the last 2 days, but I also have been sleeping a lot. Julia made thick pepper bacon and cinnamon rolls from aldi again today. I also drank a 60mg Torch Raspberry Seltzer with dinner so I am going to be tripping in a couple hours :stuck_out_tongue:

    Discovered this one last week while driving through Ohio, a new one from Great Lakes and an interesting twist on an already solid beer = it's a good'n. :yum: @Blogjackets @meanmutt

    Door Splitter ESB at Hemlock State Brewing. Quite solid!

    Still plugging away on this Hungarian mystery. The writer uses a lot of vocab I’m unfamiliar with so, even thought I’m enjoying the story, it’s a bit of a slog.

    Final beer tonight is a Swamp Head Brewery Power Pellets DNEIPA. Very full flavored but almost too smooth on the mouthfeel. Moving to Makers after this one......
