Good morning BAs! Following our hour long walk today, we’re making bourbon balls for Christmas, and finishing off last Sunday’s bottle of BCB Double Barrel Stout:



I agree with @Ozzylizard … this is one of the best BBA S stouts from Goose Island yet. Just chocolate base and bourbon and oak from the barrels. Glad I bought another bottle yesterday. Definitely delicious!

This afternoon is our monthly beer share at the pub, so I’ll hopefully be back later. Cheers and have a sublime Saturday y’all!

Full review linked above, full New Beer Weekend #281 treatment linked here. Bottom line, this is nicely balanced in terms of sweet fruit flavors and a nice bitterness, malt is easy. Probably in the top half of my Hazy IPA ratings over the years.

Maybe, but I like it. Shows off the Helles beer well.

 

Yes, a great pretzel too, butter and a mustard with a healthy dose of horseradish. I prefer a beer cheese dip but I don't think that's particularly German traditional.

Oh man. I just saw the short notice about a local brewery, Fair State, and they're shutting their doors as of Monday Dec 8. Lots of strike outs at the brewery home plate this year in MN. It's a collapse. There's a lot of folks that can brew good beer.
**Today is the day to have a brew I rcv'd from @DoctorZombies thru an in-person trade in lovely Green Bay, WI this summer at Casa del @GreenBayBA which was absolutely epic. What a great group of folks! >>This brew has been gingerly transported and chilled for quite some time now. Seems like a perfect day for a day-changing beer and who knows, maybe I'll see the bionic rabbit I saw ystrdy that leaped 12 ft...then 30 sec later saw a stray cat. It's a wild kingdom!
