It would be a nice private stat for us to know how many likes we've left for others. I have several threads that I keep up with, liking every post (unless someone really pisses me off). Others, like WBAYDN, are really hard to keep up with. In general, I'll like any post since someone took the time to contribute - even if I don't agree with them.

Since I am from the OP’s area, I am now curious as to which frequent poster he is referring to….that being said my policy on WBAYDN is to like those posts that actually include a beer being drank. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the others and they are part of what makes that community a great place, it just becomes too many to keep up with some times. I’m all for liking in most situations as they made the effort to contribute, and agree or otherwise, that is worth the quick click of a button

Since you're from the OP's area, I checked your like count before I liked your post, just in case you were the guilty party!

Honest opinion: Whatever. Different people engage different ways.

Picking up on something in person, especially in a professional setting, where body language, tone, physical appearance, and even dress can be read is one thing.

Observing how often one specific user on the internet does or does not perform one specific action is a whole other level of attention to detail.

I agree for the most part but the skill set is the same, observation. After years of checking likes to see if there was something more personal like a mention or quote I cant help but look at the names of people who liked a post
Then as I am on wbaydn liking other posts, reading what others are writing its not complicated to see the names there dont show up
In the list of people who like my posts. Just repetitive observation,I dont hold grudges or take it personal but I just have a
    good memory

It shows the first 3-4 names, and the says 'and X others' have Liked the post. Do you actively open the Others list to see who has or hasn't Liked your post?

No I don't, its on the list on the top right whenever I come to the site.. I understand what you are suggesting but its just the personal list on top right under username

I tend to give out likes rather freely, and I'm not too concerned with reciprocation. I just enjoy participating since this my only social media vice, and I also enjoy the contributions that others make. I don't frequent the forums nearly as much as I used to, but I do try to keep current as much as I can.

We really do need an Ignore Thread feature, though.

I believe The Beatles famously said “in the end, the likes you take are equal to the likes you make”

    Right.

For example, multiple of my posts on this thread have gotten "Likes" . Some, more than others, are easily tracked. Do I care?

    Nope.

Coming back to the OP, why would someone care enough to even notice?

Why, in your professional view, does/should anyone care what other users decide to Like or not? This is what is confusing me. Who the bloody fuck cares enough to track this bullshit?

I give as many likes as I can on WBAYDN, but unfortunately, I don't have time to read 10+ pages. It makes me sad that I miss out on all the later posts. :slight_frown:
