Good evening BAs! My new beer today arrived this week in a Tavour box - FW’s Uber Omni Gruber, a double BA imperial stout with vanilla beans, coconut, hazelnut and coffee added:

Fleeting reddish tan cap poured at 53.2°; thin ring; coconut floaties; no cap retention; no lace; black with ruby edge; no legs on swirl. Bourbon, caramel, coconut; very little booze in retronasal. Taste of semi sweet caramel; bourbon; vanilla, coconut, and some nutty sweet hazelnut on finish; still looking for coffee. Creamy mouth feel ; almost chewy, but not adjuncty ; minimal carbonation, surprisingly minimal warmth from 13.6% ABV. Overall outstanding; layers of well balanced flavors; perhaps a tad sweet, but all additions are present and complementary except for perhaps the coffee.

Drekker Flizzard BBA Imperial Pastry Stout, 14.4% ABV. Pours very thick and opaque deep brown, with a ring of bubbles. Leaves an oily sheen. Incredible aroma is vanilla ice cream and strong Oreo. Taste is bourbon, Oreo, and vanilla, moderately sweet, too bitter. Decent thick and creamy mouthfeel, overall excellent. Too bad the taste doesn't match the aroma.

Decided on another beer after all, had this nice stout from Northern Row in Cincinnati:

Caroler | Northern Row Brewery & Distillery | BeerAdvocate

Marketed as a holiday stout, the spices in it were subtle and seemed more like a regular stout to me. Still nice to drink though, would like to try this one in the future. This is probably the last of my new brews today but should have some more tomorrow. Cheers everyone!

    Joemolungma
6.5% Brown ale with coffee and honey by Jackie O’s

Apparently this one was part of the Chomolungma variety pack. Luckily for me, my bottle shop gal split a pack up.

Poured from a twelve ounce can, the body pours black with a modest white head. Very light lacing.

Aroma is a light mix of toasty coffee and honey. Delightful.

Taste follows nose with the coffee flavor amplified a bit. The honey is mostly background but meshes nicely with the coffee. The ale is lightly bitter on finish and fades together with the coffee. I enjoy Chomolungma, their original honey ale, but this beer is a big improvement in my book.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft with light carbonation.

    A fine drinking brown ale.

Next up is a beer that is local to me.
Saint Arnold - Bad Habit Brewing - St. Joseph, MN - Flanders Red - 5% ABV

This is one hell of a puckering beer. My throat and taste buds are feeling it with this beer. Tons of tart cherry flavor. This is delicious, but something that I can only have one of this style in a session.

From a 16oz can. Canned in October of 2025.

This beer has a nice dark red color to it, and it is clear. There's a 1 finger off white head to the beer. The head retention is ok, and there's no lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
The aroma is quite deep and has a nice funk to it. There's cherry notes to the nose.
Wow, this beer is tart, and makes me pucker in a good way. The tart cherry flavor is strong, and it just lingers in my throat. The tartness is very long lasting and just clings to my taste buds and throat.
This is a very dry beer, and it is a lingering feeling. The body is clingy feeling.
This is a solid beer. I do have to be in the right mood for the style, but it is totally delicious and well made.

I will try to get one more in today. Cheers!

Cross post from the Holiday Beer Tasting, Saturday Belgian edition.
Gave a more detailed description and metrics there, but for here: Find it if you can.
This drinks like the top-tier Quads and Dark Strong Belgians. Initial sips great, and as expected even better as it warms and progresses.
Where has this been all my life?

Tonight I walk amongst the pines...tonight I open a beer I've been looking forward to since it was mentioned to me. The beer that prompted my recent exchange with @vurt this one contains my favorite hop, chinook, and the added glory of grand fir spruce tips from the forests of Oregon. Had to use two cans to show off the beautiful labels, I will savor the last can in the coming weeks.

Fort George - Magnanimous IPA (AIPA with Grand Fir Tips 7%)

Pours clear, orange gold; white head, clumps into a nice cap with some lace; cap has really nice staying power; sips yield sticky dots of lace each time.

Nose is nice, old school; malt sweetness, light graininess; sticky orange rind, earthy, tingly pine felt in the sinuses.

Taste is a pine lovers delight, I’ve died and gone to heaven; great malt presence, then all pine needle and sap, little bit of dank earth quality hint of spruce laden berry and grapefruit skin; but that is all secondary to pine; the aftertaste is distinctly subtle spruce tip; especially retroactively in the nose.

Medium body, super clean drinking beer; sticky tongue coating hop and pine resin, high bitterness with a bite; highest of drinkability given its abv.

This is my dream IPA, super clean and bitter, distinct chinook bite that h love, enhance by beautiful spruce tip presence. I ma have to request this be an annual exchange @vurt :stuck_out_tongue:

    ----------------------

Hoping to post another Christmas themed beer tomorrow to cross post as well, hope to see you all again soon.

Bow and Arrow - Easy Cactus

16oz can served in a stemless Fremont rastal. Don't see a date. Don't remember where I got it.

Pours dark, probably clear but hard to tell in this lighting. Thin skin of head, maybe a bit more than a centimeter of height crawling up the side. Smell is toasty and nutty. Roasty, slightly singed bread.

Taste is similar, though softer on the roasty/toasty aspects. More dark fruit oriented, singed grains and dark bread. Earthy, almost umami, slight cola.

Mouthfeel is light, quite carbonated, clean. Nice, easy drinking beer.

Had this one for a couple reasons; the holiday beers tasting thread and because it’s a great name, play on words.
The pour is the color of coffee with a 3mm manilla colored head that doesn’t stick around long enough.
The taste is that of a basic porter that has nutmeg and cloves and allspice added in. Not bad at all.
The feel is definitely on the thinner side. But that makes it very easy to slam.
OA, I could sit and drink a few of these at a Christmas party, but wouldn’t seek it out again.
Heading over to the holiday thread now

    Packaged October 29th - enjoyed on December 13th, 2025.

Unclear aureolin liquid with a rich magnolia cap. Immense rocky lacing; superior retention.

Potent hop aroma suffused with gooseberry, scallion, guava, and lime soda.

Bright hop flavors dance between tropical, citrus, and herbal flavors. Hints of candied ginger. Mild malt and neutral yeast - modest but lasting bitterness. Fairly dry crackery finish.

Creamy, soft mouthfeel. Refreshing with well concealed ABV.

An excellent collaboration, more than the sum of its parts.

    look: 4.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4
11/27/25 on bottom of can. Poured into a Duvel tulip.

Copper hue with 2-finger off-white frothy head with excellent retention and craggy bands of lacing.

Aroma is subtle with light buttery caramel/toffee notes

Flavor is richer than the aroma with more maple-toffee notes that skirts cloying without going over the line.night herbal bitterness keeps the sweetness in check.

Mouthfeel is on target for a malty ale with medium body, high carbonation, and full finish.

Mad River Maple is a great seasonal ale - especially if you like beers on the sweeter side.

Evil Twin Even More XMAS Imperial Stout ( so many adjuncts, too lazy to list ) 12.0% ABV; 4.01 overall

Maple syrup surfaces as this beer warms up, along with some booze bite, raspberry chocolate, brown sugar, a little cinnamon & marshmallow as well, plus coffee & dryness. Finishes with chocolate, coffee, brown sugar & marshmallow

MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation. Warming

Doesn't drink too bad for its heft. a lot going on here, but doesn't seem disjointed

    Trve - Skullseeker blonde ale

16oz can served in a stemless Fremont rastal. Don't see a date. @beergoot sent it to me, I think.

Pours clear light yellow-gold. Small head on the pour with a short life span, lots of carbonation with a thickish ring sustained by pretty substantial carbonation. Smell is lemon/lime citrus and light grains, some citrus acidity / tartness. Funkiness and yeast.

Taste is funkier than expected. I kinda wanna compare it to a grisette or a similar table beer. Earthy, citrus notes certainly have not subsided.

Mouthfeel is light, effervescent, nice little prickle. Overall, pretty good.
