Holiday brew #2. Smells of caramel malt, pine, grapefruit. Taste is piney, grapefruit, sweet caramel. Medium body, moderate carbo with a dry finish. Good bitterness is subdued by the sweet caramel. Maybe too much caramel sweetness but still pretty good. Cheers:beer:

Better late than never. I’m saving the big bottle of Jacobsen’s for me and the mrs later in the month.

Until then, I’ve cracked a bottle of Delerium xmas and… it tastes like Delerium Tremens to me. No complaints though. Tastes fairly dry, good spice, strong bubblegum flavour, but its kept in check

I was hesitant to make Red Sweater IPA my last post on this thread but it is similar in many respects to Celebration. Both feature bready malt, pine sap, and tart lemon and grapefruit. I think Red Sweater may be more citrus-forward and it has a hint of tropical sweetness deep in the background. While in my opinion Celebration is better overall, Red Sweater is not far behind. It is worthy competition. I hope that Founders makes it an annual release.

Toasted bready malt with caramel and I get a touch of cherry cough syrup. A solid scotch ale.

I hope your furnace was fixed @thebeers

    Good afternoon BA
Another favorite. Here's the third Christmas tree as well. It spins, but I don't know how to turn it on or up load videos...

05-2028 bottle at cellar temp. Aroma is sweet with dried fruits and caramelized sugars. The taste is semisweet, berry and orchard fruit with caramel malt and esters. Medium bodied with good carbonation to keep things from getting too sweet. Delicious beer.

Clear, dark brown pour; opaque in the glass; fairly dense and persistent head, thick and light khaki colored; Pleasant scent; roasted malts, gingerbread, holiday cookie spices. Wonderful taste; milk chocolate and cocoa powder baseline; light brown sugar; notes of ginger and cinnamon; vanilla sweetness; minor sense of bitterness. Rich, silky mouthfeel; coats the palate with a fine and pleasant chewy sweetness.

The taste will wow you and the mouthfeel will leave lingering feelings of dark, sweet goodness on the palate. A super beer!

Drinking my second can of Jackie O's Christmas Ale, they're local enough since they have a location in Columbus:

Didn't know when I bought this yesterday, but apparently this is a spiced version of their Chomolungma Brown Ale. I think this is good, but I do like the base beer more. But I'm not disappointed with this one at all, won't have any problems finishing the 6 pack!

Ooh... I am looking forward to that one, as I am a fan of the newest American whiskey style - American Single Malt (essentially our country's Scotch). We got it in can form in the variety case, and I expected that it'll taste more or less like a light bourbon-barrel aged stout. You mention the barrel aging is coming through, so that'll be fun.

I will also check to see if they mention whether the barrels came from Virginia Distillery Co - which is one of the distilleries pushing for the new whiskey style. Cheers!

Edit: I see @beergoot enjoyed the original - a little warmth of pride for a "local" beer has entered my body as I enjoy a Pennsylvania Tuxedo, which I don't quite think fts the theme, despite it tasting like a Christmas tree - in the best way.

Nope. The technician was a no show, and nobody else was answering calls on a snowy, Sunday game day. Hoping I have better luck tomorrow.

If you like Chomolungma (it’s part of the Jackie O’s lore), then try Joemolungma which adds coffee to great effect. I reviewed several pages back. Cheers.

For day 3 of the tasting, this is the closest I could come: New Trail (Williamsport, Pa., the Little League place) Double Zombies (doubled up pumpkin ale: double maple, vanilla and pumpkin spices). I think it qualifies as a local seasonal, and very apt for this freezing, snowy Sunday.
Actually, pretty perfect on this evening.
By the by, really enjoyed this Tasting Weekend. And, the Eagles finally won one...

Not local but same state at least. Jingle Java from Bent River. It’s a coffee oatmeal stout ‘enhanced’ (according to the brewery) with vanilla, pecan, cinnamon and rum. That’s a lot. Not certain I get all those flavors but it’s really tasty. Have at least one every holiday season.

...been sipping on these for a couple of weeks...clear, dark copper color; great head; sheets of foam coating the glass...okay nose...nice malty flavor with a subtle bit of holiday spiciness...excellent mouthfeel; smooth with a deft presence of sugary stickiness...
