    The frigid temps have moved on. :clap: 20's today, 30's tomorrow, and then 40's until the weekend. Early morning gym visit after taking grandson to work, then some grocery shopping. Chili tonight it is. Appropriate beer in the glass, Brooklyn Brown Ale, it will go well with the chili. Cheers!

    This beer, as well as Lunch, is a good example of how the "Hazy" IPA substyle is arguably a better fit than New England IPA - at least in some ways. SoS, Lunch, and G-Bot are all iconic IPAs from New England, but none of them are hazy IPAs in the slightest. Meanwhile, plenty of breweries in California, the Midwest, and Pennsylvania brew iconic hazy IPAs.

    Clear, dark copper pour, darker in the glass; fine, dense, slow-rising carbonation; thick off-white head, dense with a rolling sculpted foam cap with a semi-creamy texture, long-lasting. Rich malt nose with a vague hint of smokiness; a bit of holiday cookie spiciness. Robust roasted malt backbone; minor sense of hop bitterness. Lager-smooth mouthfeel; full and rounded.

    This well-crafted and tasty winter bock is a joy to imbibe. It does have a 'winter edge' with the slight spiciness, but I would gladly enjoy this one year-round.

    Sounds like some serious frustration lately Larry, sorry to hear that. Hope the holidays will brighten things a bit and Celebration is a great choice!
    Me, been fortunate with my career choice post career (although frustrating and stressful in the working years) and it is pretty sweet i can enjoy a wonderful BBA Dark Star from Fremont on a Monday afternoon. The base oatmeal stout is perfect for my palate, and the barrels do enhance this brew.
