Celebration - Cheers!!

 

Woodruff flavored Berliner Weisse.

Was not expecting the green!

 

But a green color is pretty much THE only standard thing about a woodruff Berliner.

I love those by the way. What a unique flavor.

 

Busy day getting some last gifts for the wife. Cheers all.

 

I'll be totally honest, I did not know what this was when I picked it up!

I like IPA's and sours, but a sour IPA...WTF?

It was actually very nice and I would happily have it again. I've had Woodruff in stouts before but never to my knowledge in a sour.

I have had a Berliner Weisse on tap with the woodruff added as a "shot" in the beer. I don't remember it being quite so green though. Apparently that is the traditional way to serve it and the traditional shots are woodruff and I think raspberry. Woodruff is an unusual flavour but quite nice. I would have it again if I had the chance.
