    Happy New Year!
Finally got my shipment—a couple notes:
Cookie Barrel— a little hot and a touch stringent (maybe related). It’s otherwise ok—sweet with some good chocolate in the base. I’ll try it again in 6 + months. But I’m not a fan of Artificial flavors—are we just adding flavored syrup to beer? And why artificial color? I’d rather see beer done naturally.

I did like Got Stout—doesn’t taste particularly stouty, but the blond base with vanilla and cacao work really well. A good “light” beer at 9%

I found this 2009 Papier in my fridge. It’s been kept cold since I bought it, so hopefully it’s in pretty good shape 16 years later. I would have had it this weekend, but my sinuses are all jacked up right now, so I may put that off until I get better.

Wow! Yeah what's another week after 16 years?

Can't wait to hear your report.

Bierbara 5.0 continuing to hold up great. Just past six years old now and I love the bold yet integrated flavors of quad, grape, and spice.

Right? I don't think another week will matter much. I hope it's still tasty.

I had one of these in 2016 (so it was 7 years old at that point), and it was pretty fantastic. In general, I've found the Anny ales to be basically bulletproof, and I think the oldest I've had was 11 years old and still phenomenal. I'm partial to the Anny ales though, so your mileage may vary. Plus, 16 years is extreme and so I'd definitely be curious to see how it's holding up these days (I suspect some degradation, but still pretty good).

I have a bottle of Cuir (2011) in my cellar somewhere and I've been thinking that it's about time to pull the trigger on that one.

That's awesome! Is is the BA-blend, or one of 100% BA ones that are waxed? Would love to get your notes on how it's drinking!

For several years the back label claimed they could mature for "decades" - not sure if they're still saying that lol.

Poterie is the oldest I have at the moment. It's coming up on ten years this Spring. Will be drinking it then.

Yeah, it’s old enough to drive and I may be too old to drink 25 ounces of 14.5% myself. I would have liked to share it with some neighbors on NYE, but I wasn’t feeling well at all, it sucks to get sick when I have a few days off of work.

It does say that it will “age gracefully for decades” and that it’s 25% bourbon barrel aged and 75% oak barrel aged. I tried to post a picture, but it didn’t seem to be working. Plus my picture was pretty shitty, but I’ll have to brave the rain we’re getting right now to get the bottle out of the beer fridge in my garage.

I opened a '25 Barrel Aged Three's Company last night. I really enjoyed this one. It had all of the flavors I was expecting but it wasn't cloying like you'd find with many other breweries. I'm glad I have a second bottle. I also recieved my December order so I'm looking forward to trying some of the most recent bottles.

Ended up having a quicker stop than planned, so I only did a mini flight of 3 then got a bonus Aloha Friday taster when The Gift tapped out halfway into my pour.

The Gift was a really tasty holiday feeling beer, kinda felt more fall than winter BUT regardless it's great

The Dip - I love a good golden stout and this one came with great flavors, very dessert-y without being overwhelmingly sweet or aggressive

Cookie Barrel - also pretty solid, the Bruery doing what they do best

Aloha Friday is always good, can't go wrong there

Throwing these links here for my (any anyone else's) future reference...

On another note.. a little nervous about Churriosity.. The Bruery site lists bourbon and cinnamon whiskey barrels (yes!!) but the label indicates it is not barrel aged at all. Maybe this is just another case of there being a separate and distinct BA Churriosity in addition... hopefully.. That aside... lots of really nice sounding 2026 beers that I am looking forward to trying!

Yikes... the status of my December beers: "The package has been damaged. All merchandise has been discarded and the sender will be notified."

Oh no, I'm sure Bruery will make good on it, but that sucks.

Yeah they were on top of it almost instantly ha. I'm morbidly curious about what happened at the shipping center. Did they get "gallons" of barrel aged stout everywhere or did one bottle get nicked and they threw out tons of good beer for no reason =O

My guess is a bottle got damaged and ruined the packaging. Maybe the person who realized it was damaged is a bruery fan so they are enjoying the bottles that weren't damaged, lol.
