Happy Wednesday ba. Pretty much back to my more normal routine and schedule. I’m looking forward to light work days and some extended time off. Nice to see some sunshine as it’s been rather cold and gloomy.

Ha. I bought a 4pack of this despite the label saying best before year 2023.
The chocolate, cherry, and oak from the casks seem to be ok.

Ah, breakfast brew.

Key City Brewing Mr. Sippi

Attractive golden color with quickly dissapating small white cap.

Aroma of sweet malt and mildly spicy hops.

Taste primarily of malt that's a bit fuller and richer than average. Hops are sufficient to balance but stay quietly in the background. Flavors are good even if a bit subdued.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.
Easy drinking people and food friendly.

 

Today, it's very mild though grey, still very fine for a january day--and both cats Gracie and Sundae looked forward to checking out the day's new beers with me. Since it's Wednesday (along with Sundays and Saturdays), I do a fourth beer, provided it's light and that I can of course do it responsibly lol. I like to make sure, each day, that I have a different set of beers--so today is no different, with an IPA, a saison, a pilsner, and a brown ale: First, with Gracie, it's my twelfth brew from nearby Tecumseh, Ontario's Frank Brewing Co.--their 6.5% She's a Spicy Peach IPA...

Taking shit up a notch here ba. 2024 Parabola, bba is (12 yr Elijah Craig barrels), Firestone.
Crazy smooth w/ big notes of booze fudge and good tannins. Oak, bourbon, charred smoke, vanilla. Nice stuff,

Happy dreary damp Wednesday BAs

Highlight on this day, is it is my Emma pup's "Gotcha Day" - I brought this sweet pup home from the rescue place 6 years ago today ! What a great dog she has been!

Been craving some spicy food lately but since the Spanish aren’t big on spicy food, I had to go to the local Asian market to get my fix. While there I also picked up this Japanese beer. I’ll be honest I haven’t been impressed with most Asian beers and this is no exception, I like how dry it is but the flavor is basically non existent. Very drinkable but unremarkable. I’ll probably open a €3 bottle of Cava (Spanish Champagne basically) later to polish off my night, before I finally go back to work tomorrow and end my extended winter break (one of the perks of teaching).

 

I should have enough Sierra Nevada CELEBRATION Fresh Hop IPA to get me through January.

 

This is probably going to get me fired from my baby sitting gig. It's a good year to find a j....hob though
