Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em! Here’s the place to show all sorts of smoked beers some love. Cracked open this tasty oak smoked peach lager from Wayfinder tonight, my first beer of the New Year. We hit six pages on the 2025 edition of this thread. I think that means @Resistance88 owes me two beers by now.
This is Hopfenstark Boson de Higgs BerlinerRauchSaison (sic). BA says it's a Berliner Weisse, but it's much more. There's light smoke, light funk, and light tartness, and a light body, with a low ABV that makes this a fabulous table beer. From the brewer's description:
The vanilla and roasted malt dominate but as it warms it starts to remind me of a campfire @hosehead83
Eviltwin anti ipa smoked lager. A pretty good lager with a decent amount of smoke. The smoke is done well as it adds a lot to the flavor without completely dominating
Here is a smoked Polish Lager called Grodziskie from Solaris Beer The aroma is more grainy than smoky, but the first sip let's you know it's smoky stuff. Thin and watery body with plenty of spritz and is actually very pleasing. Very dry with just that smoke and bitterness. It's quite drinkable if you want a quick quaff and don't mind the rather acrid finish.
Thanks @elNopalero for kicking this off! Let’s show up the Stout crew this year. Fallen Aurora This is one of the best lagers I have had for quite a while now. Lightly (faint) smoked Helles. Think smoldering log. Gem clear pail straw with a long lived head that leaves sticky patches of lace. Mild honey sweetness with grains, straw, spiciness, light barnyard, and pleasant comforting smoke in the aroma. Flavors are light and equal parts bitter / sweet, crisp grains, all of the aroma, and rye bread. The finish is long and dry, with bitterness building slightly along the way. Median to light body, stiff nylon texture, abv has a slight presence, carbonation is sharply prickly, and metallic notes to round it out. This is a great all purpose beer. MORE please! Take that @Resistance88. HA!
Even though it's been a tad less smoky/flavorful for the past two years since Alaskan went to the 12oz. 4 packs instead of the old 22oz. bombers, the Alaskan Smoked Porter is still an excellent, penny-for-penny schmoked brew IMO.
Last night at the Horse Brass Pub in Portland, OR, I enjoyed The Fire Next Time, a Bamberg-style smoked lager from Otherlands Beer in collaboration with Wander Brewing (both breweries are in Bellingham, WA). The Fire Next Time is a soft, gorgeously malty lager with plenty of smoke. Just superb.

Playing a little catch up here. Another tasty smoked ale. I love these flavorful super low ABV beers.
