'Add a Beer' Weekend

Well I thought that I had reliable sources for my data....

Yeah I used his number which sounds about right from where we were a few days ago. Your Post #14 in the 1-millionth thread with 741,889 beers must have been net of all deleted beers, etc.

Someone's math is off. Roughly 1,800 have been added in the last week, but we've also handled hundreds of duplicate beer reports in the last week.

It sounds like our campaign to add beers to the database is causing some extra work for the Mods and Todd, so here's a plea to remember to check the ALL tab on the brewery's list of beers for the beer that you want to add so we prevent the adding duplicate beer names. Thanks everyone for your efforts so far.

I'm looking at your 1,800 number and that seems to set a pace for 7,200 for the month. Over the past three years the annual average was 45,560 or around 3,800 for each month. That means that we're setting a pace that is an 89% increase over that 3-year average average. (I hope the math is right this time.) So something good is happening if we can control the duplicates.

 

No, no, don't push yet. We still have three weeks of labor.

 

I've made the 'executive' decision that the Add-A-Beer Weekend will be on February 7-8. There have been some members who have been adding beers ever since this thread was created, and I hope some members have been saving up for the designated weekend for the BIG PUSH to see what kind of record can be set over two days.

However, @Todd is hoping to have another campaign that will start after this one has ended, so your effort on February might fit into that program. Regardless, add them whenever you can because the ultimate goal is 1,000,000 beers in the database asap just for the challenge. Every beer addition is going to help that cause.
