4 Noses el hefe Con Leche Imperial Stout. From a box of beer my neighbor gifted me for house sitting while he was gone. A bit more subtle than many of the pastry stouts these days which is fine by me. Cheers!:beers:

Founders O- fest on a cool Wednesday afternoon. Freeze warning here for tomorrow night, yikes. I have a coconut palm I’ll have to try to wrap up. In the last major freezes 2009-2011 Coconut palms did NOT do well. Royal palms did much better.

At the San Diego airport heading home. This is strikingly fresh, bracingly bitter Stone IPA. I haven’t had it in a minute and it is absolutely DELICIOUS. I’m a happy old beer nerd.

    Revisited January 14th, 2026

Dense and opaque pour and body appearance, coal-black; thick head, tan and frothy, very long-lasting; sticky, crystalized bands of foam mark the glass. Great nose exuding raspberry and baker's chocolate. Fantastic flavor; chocolate; grain char; whiskey; vanilla; coffee-like bitterness. Heavy body; thick and sticky; prominent alcohol warmth.

I have no idea what sort of whiskey barrels were used in my first review of this beer, but I have enjoyed Laws' Four Grain Straight Bourbon before. That said, I find the 2025 release to be very similar to what I had five years ago. It's a killer!

    4.5 4.25 4.25 4.5 4.25; BA weighted overall score: 4.29; rDev: -0.2%

Very dark brown body, nearly black; dense and creamy light brown head; thick, sticky patches of . Soothing, balanced aroma of soft cocoa and chocolate with a tempering note of bourbon; oak. Fine light chocolate flavor with a bold yet balanced bourbon presence; light bitterness. Heavy body; velvety with soft residual sugars; dry with alcohol warmth.

When I want a big boozy beer, this one does the trick.

Served at 58° F; bottom of can data: CANNED ON NOV 02 2020.

    Hey BAs!

Urquell time, but taking it slow today after epic 7hr game session with neighbors last night.

Got into the All Fives dominoes and Phase 10 with some highly competitive folks lmao.

My head hurts, my feet stink, and I don't love Jesus.

Another mix pack for me. This is very nice, listed as a "Pastry Stout" on the site, but it's only a touch sweet. I'd buy this if they offered it as a stand-alone.

Had to wait today until errands were run today and the city electrical inspector buzzing by to check on progress/inspection. All good.
Feeling the need to tap into a can that @Blogjackets so graciously sent me. I'm takin' my sweet time to enjoy them. Good day to have this. Very cold and gonna get colder. Dave, there's mystery beers ready for you brother but I won't ship now cuz the temps are just too low and well, from past experience...I'll find a good weather window for your box. :pointing_right::heavymetal::pointing_left:
So, here we go. Complete in the complimentary snifter to boot. :beers::beers:

Is it Wednesday yet? Checking calender....yes! Took a break for a few days because I had that wonderful annual physical this week. Labs all checked out (hurray!). Cholesterol is boarderline, so need to shape up the diet a bit. Anywho, enjoy a wonderful, refreshing Good Word Brewing Die Todd Die Bohemian Pilsner 5% abv. Just a straight up excellent go to Czech style beer that's fresh. Cheers!
