I have another Ball Snatching Karen IPA in my glass at Mountain Hops downtown.

Chilly day in the Greater Asheville area, currently at 33 with a decent breeze.
Getting into my first Augistiner Maximator doppelbock. The malt and yeast used are very good providing a nice meal in a bottle fit for a monk.

We flew out to St. Louis this morning, then drove to Columbia MO (with an obligatory lunch stop at a Culver’s along I-70). I’m hydrating at the hotel with a local WCIPA, Snapper, from Log Boat Brewing, before we head over to our daughter’s and SIL’s house. Cheers!

Hearthfelt ~ Hop Butcher For The World


Fire On High ~ ELO

 

Brouwerij Huyghe Delerium Tremens (8.5%): Belgian Strong Pale Ale with flavors of orange citrus, Belgian yeast, spices, and a cloying alcohol warmth.

Haven't had one of these in a while. Some nice flavors. Drinks cleaner and less sweet than I expected/remember. Wouldn't peg it at 8.5%. Added by Todd way back in 2001, possibly one of the first beer on BeerAdvocate. Amazing timeless Belgian Strong.

@Roguer I managed to find this relatively fresh, canned on 10/15/25. Which is a win when it comes to this particular beer.

Junkyard SAIL NZ Pilsner. Enjoying this 4pk so much I'd forgotten to review it. But like a true beer geek I stashed a can in the way back machine.
imgur isn't working so I'll shut down, re-start, crush a fuckin' beer and be back shortly.

OK. Here's the lovely.

 

1) Kettlehead Pulpy’s Family Reunion (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from New Hampshire with flavors of orange, apricot, tropical melon, berries, and dank pine.
versus
2) Kettlehead Quest (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from New Hampshire with flavors of mango, peach, and pineapple. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Just another Tuesday BeerAdvocates so why not a Kettlehead IPA Battle. First is Pulpy's Family Reunion. Another beer haul and picked up some more Kettlehead. Excited to try more of these after seeing a lot of these from @SawDog505 . No hops or dates listed on either of these
First is Pulpy's Family Reunion. First try at this. It was still icy somewhat from the drive which I didn't realize until I opened and poured it. Nevertheless, aromas of orange, earthy apricot, pine. Quest had identical aromas, but flavor picked up more orange, peach, and mango. More smooth. Overall, hard to tell the two apart especially since I am blinded against the hops. Pulpy's seems to have a nice piney balance to it.
