Cherries are not always my favorite fruit in beer but this one is done very well. I got more of a mix of raspberry, cherry and light orange citrus. Really enjoyable! Cheers!!
Trader Joe's Vintage Belgian Ale (2025). Brewed by Van Steenberge. 9% ABV. Excellent Belgian dark strong ale.
Chouffe 4.0 d’Achouffe This is amazing. The aromatics and flavors are through the roof. Gotta git me mo-a-dis one! And at 4.0%abv, this fits nicely into a the post office decompression hour or three.
Good morning all. This is my first Delirium Red. Bought the Parade Pack and wasn’t sure what to expect from the cans but am so far quite pleased with this one. The beer is a delicious tart cherry with a slight sweetness upfront and has a wonderful complex fruit and malt aroma. Feel is high in the mouth and heavily carbonated. Yet, the bubbles are quite gentle. The 41-45 degree serving temperature sounded too cold. I poured at 51-52. Cheers!
2021 bottle of Stille Nacht from De Dolle. A wonderful Belgian strong pale ale. 12% ABV. I first had this 9 years ago, and loved it then. A mix of malty sweetness and citrus hop bitterness.
I don’t understand why this Green’s Gluten Free Dubbel gets such a low score here? My only guess is that I’m drinking it fresher than most BAdvocates do. This has a BB date of 10/03/2030 so I’m guessing it was bottled on 10/03/25? Regardless, it has an excellent balance between sweet fruit with brown sugar and yeast and has a superb high in mouth feel. This beer completely reformulated my opinion on Green’s.
Cross posted from the Cellaruary thread: Dutchess Petite This is the last can from a pack that I purchased in 2023. I enjoyed those beers but not as much as the "regular" version. Right now its still 4.5 years short of its Best Before date of October 2030.
Drinking a fantastic Chimay Blue on this sunny 60 degree Tuesday. Poured this one at 52 degrees and tasting superb. Cheers all!
Probably my favorite quad/BSDA of all time, a must purchase on-tap at the Yardhouse chain restaurant in Greenville, SC! Cross post from WBAYDN... Enjoying a Wild Saison from the smaller West Asheville brewer Cellarest. This was rested in a cherrywood foudre and then a secondary mixed culture fermentation in an oak puncheon. If in Asheville Cellarest and Zillicoah are the two must stops for very good lagers, saisons, and wild brews. Cheers! Tom
