While this quest is still bemusing me, I find myself mired in something of a chore. I started catching up on Cloudburst Brewing's list. They had about 450 listed when I started on, I think, Thursday. I just entered their 701st beer, and there's lots more to go on the list. I'll get there, eventually.
If you're using mode (most frequently occurring) as the measure of central tendency, there is no doubt in my mind that it would be this.
Added a few recent new to me & new in the stores here in LFK beers today, if'n you don't count the one, 'rice-wine-etc.-etc. "fruit beer". Onward & upward. Been saving a few new additions for next weekends' onslaught & glut.
I just checked back and my total beers added is now 1,389 (even though I've added a few more since posting on January 10). My guess is that duplicate entries are being purged, but whatever is going on, it seems like negative progress.
I've been entering beers mostly from smaller breweries just going through the Massachusetts breweries list. Question - do draft only beers count? I assume that a beer is a beer and draft served on site by the brewery should be included. Matters more to smaller places but I'm looking at a pretty big brewery right now that has 7 packaged beers but 21 of their own on tap. I think we are going to win some and lose some - if a brewery is closed do we lose their beers?
I have an opinion, which I think is probably correct. All beers brewed and sold commercially count, no matter if they are draft only or bottled/canned. Take Pliny The Younger as an example, it used to be draft only and it was on here. Also it is my understanding the closing of a brewery does not cause a beer to go away or not count.
Yes - I think as long as a beer is sold it counts. I've run into a few dead links leading to closed breweries - I'd guess those beers would be permanently retired. That makes sense - keep for the record, but not active.
Yeppers, in my opinion, if'n a beer was brewed, then it counts. But that's just like, my opinion, man.......
Isn’t this weekend our big push? I’ll put some time in during the break before and after the Bad Bunny concert tomorrow.
Just added a least a dozen, and a few new & in-stores/breweries available now too! Although the new Avery Yuzilla fruit brew is....VERY....YUZU!!
