Ninja Vs Unicorn DIPA - Cheers!!

 

Thanks for the open and drawing @Shanex , and nice you get Ninja vs. Unicorn, a favorite year round Chicago IPA along with Spiteful IPA. Tried out a popular beer here as Sierra Nevada typically tends to be.

Bottom line, this smelled as expected/hoped with nice Centennial hops, but the taste flipped the script, and I got majority pilsner hops, with mild grapefruit, faint citrus and no pine. Would give it a second go draft or fresh can, but I'm enjoying none the less.

This great tune you may know from Stevie jamming in the always awesome and eclectic Saturday morning overnight set on the station featured on my shaker pint glass. Thank you Hank Crawford, and Bob Signorelli for playing!

Well, my latest shipment from Half Time has arrived, so today's New Breakfast Beer:



Gravedigger Billy (2025) from Revolution Brewing. 12 fl oz can from Revolution Deep Wood six-pack from Half Time. Ordered 20/01/26, received 13/02/26 (Not shipping until after 04/02/26). Stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 14/02/26, review 3689.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Uncredited label art. Disappointing – I was expecting a more malt-forward brew with slight smokiness and bourbon barrel oakiness and some bourbon flavor. Instead, it turned out to be a weakly flavored alcohol delivery system.

G'day all!

I'm sipping on this Belgian Strong Dark Ale from Drowned Lands out of Warwick New York. Not hitting my palate very well. Chocolate, biscuit, candi sugar..should be more impressed with this than I am. Shrugs.

I enjoy this one. While I could see being let down from a Scotch ale perspective, I think it's a good BA strong ale and you can't find many of those near me. That being said, I would definitely prefer Straight Jacket and Ryeway.

 

I feel like that's my reaction to most American brewed Belgian beers.

 

With you on Ryeway and I especially enjoyed Boss Ryeway.

 

Give your wives and girlfriends beer. That way, you can drink it!

Got the 1st color color coat of paint on the accent walls right outa the gate this morning.. Tiny but very cool contrast. The old OG woodwork cleaned up nicely but some will need to be replaced and unfortunately, because of the Orange Shithead tariffs, Mahogany lumber & moulding is now really pricey. I'll find a way. But first...I need a beer. Luce Line Euro Step German Pilsner. Just right! and Wow! it's bitter with almost zero aroma. Severely crisp. Well done LL. Cheers!

We have super heavy duty 16" carpet tiles, like you see at an airport, to finish the floor. The other 2 walls U see are just primer painted with stuff we had.
