What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4875

We got around 10” here from Saturday evening to late last night - and I feel lucky compared to what you all in the Northeast are experiencing. Stay safe.

PS: the Blizzard of ‘78 started here in Northern Indiana the night I saw my first concert (Nazareth) when I was a sophomore in HS. Went into the show with no snow, came out 3+ hours later to 4” on the ground, and, over the next 36 hours a total of 44”.

Schools were closed for 2 weeks and the South Bend Tribune didn’t publish for 4 days (I was a paperboy). That’s the biggest snowstorm I’ve ever seen - by MILES - and we heard vague predictions of a coming snowstorm.

Now, the TV stations interrupt local programming for a 3” snowfall. Different times indeed.

 

Got roped into shoveling my neighbors driveway. Roped by the ghost of my father saying, “Where do you think you’re going?” when I finished our driveway. Luckily for me I had my @LarryV memorial Bully™ shovel and Hamm’s hat. Now to a seasonal from the drifts of Pennsylvania- Double @Nugganooch or something like that

Beer fridge cleanup, this is from 9/21/20 and still holding up well - tart cherry bomb is my Flemish-style red ale sweet spot (pun intended).

 

I hate to be a critic but I think some side lighting and leave the shutter open longer for more rich color saturation.

I mean seriously ….. Who doesn’t like a couple pickled eggs to go with their Pilsener!

Ok, there’s the dead giveway – Warsteiner is using the “Pilsener” variation rather than “Pilsner,” with Pilsener being more common in the North. That tells you they aren’t a Southern German beer, certainly not one at home with Bavarian flag graphic accouterments! Warsteiner is out of – where else - Warstein, Germany. That’s OK with Beermeister32 though, I’m an equal-opportunity beer drinker!

It’s funny, we don’t really see pickled eggs all that much in 2026, but for years, pickled eggs were standard bar food. Easy to see why, they are tasty and super easy to fetch out of the big jar on the counter. These ones have had a soak in red-wine vinegar, hence the color. “I’ll take another beer and a couple of “them eggs." Think of it as a quick, high-protein boost to go along with your beer!

Warsteiner Pilsener(Pilsner) is an example of perfection in brewing. A perfect and chugworthy Pils, Warsteiner has lovely head and lacing, 4.8% ABV, adheres to the Reinheitsgebot - the 1516 Beer Purity Law - and check out the clarity….! Perfection!

 

Raising this brew to all the BA brothers that had to shovel snow today. Hang in there. Better days are coming. Cheers

 

Wow - 44 inches of snow would be tough to deal with - I"d be up to my waist in snow if I stepped out in it. . Cheers!!
