Jackie O’s Wood Ya Honey

 

Barrique Shapes of Silence, a BA strong ale comprised of a 35 month Vienna malt ale and a BBA wheat stout, aged for an extra 12 months. This is probably Joel's magnum opus, until he has a new location. I've never had a beer that is so beautifully smooth and delicious with so much character, from vanilla to every shade of chocolate and cocoa, fantastic red fruits, a little coffee bitterness, and a sticky but not overly sweet finish and zero burn on the tongue but a hot finish in the chest. This is a legendary strong ale. I gave him a barleywine as a bottle to share and he said it was alright, but to try this, and slid me a glass of Shapes. It was so much better in every way. It wasn't ego, it was just that good.

That paper route I had normally took 20 - 25 minutes to deliver all 80 papers. The first day the paper was published after the blizzard took over 2 hours. The streets were literally tunnels with snow piled up 8 feet on either side on main thoroughfares. Snow plows wouldn't work - the city used "Michigan loaders" (front-end loaders) to clear the streets. Never seen anything like it.

 

Garage Beer Lime. Very respectable light beer, great citrus vibrancy and a clean lager base beer. Just a tiny bit waterier than expectations.

Holy crap that brings back vivid memories of walking through major snow storms to deliver the nj herald news. I grew up when I could go missing for hours and no one thought to worry.
