My favorite bock so far this year was at Wichita Brewing Company, a 6.4% single.

Had Schilling's Brücius yesterday. It was delicious! Such strong aromas, but so easy and smooth to drink. The flavors are complex and exciting. A perfect beer for getting snowed in.

Went to trivia night at the Blue Dog Pub tonight in Lansdale, PA.

Had a glass of the Hofbräu Delicator Doppelbock. I think my first time having this beer on draft, and it was tasty!

BeYOB Doppelbock from Wayfinder Beer in Portland

Cookie dough! Pours a clear dark brown with beige foam in the Leuete Bokbier glass. Lovely aroma of roasted malt, sugar cookies, and raisin bread. Lush and sudsy in the mouth. Sweet, strong, grainy, and highly sippable. Overall this is distinctive and robustly flavored Doppelbock.

Noble Roots Brewing The Goatman Oath dunkles bock. Toasted bread and caramel flavors abound. 6.6% ABV. Full-bodied, yet smooth. Absolutely delightful.

Gilde USA Broyhan's weizenbock. Charlotte brewery. Aromas and flavors of big ripe banana, bubblegum, clove, peppercorn, pear, apricot, red apple, raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, herbal, grass, light pine, and yeast earthiness. Light-med pine/herbal/grassy bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium carb and medium plus body. Balanced creamy/bready wheat and sticky hop mouthfeel. Lingering sticky hop drying, no cloying sweetness. This is like banana bread with stone fruits. Minimal warming 7.5%. Spot on style, big yeast complexity. 4.22/5

I'm drinking a 16oz can of Drowned Lands, Kinsfolk Doppelbock. 8.0% no date on the can that I could find.
Taste is toasted dark bread, brown sugar, caramel, hint of dark fruit and chocolate. Sweet but not overly sweet, a hint of bitter on the finish.
Mouth feel is smooth but slightly thin. ABV is well hidden

A solid beer. I will give it a 4.08/5 overall

I just finished drinking a 32oz can of Lakefront Winter Bock Test Batch #2. 6.8% Filled from the tap at the brewery.

The main flavor is stone washed dark fruit, plus caramel, toasted bread, with a micro hint of spice at the finish. It's smooth and mildly sweet. Medium body in the mouth.

I like this one, 4.11/5 overall

Tom, that is the Halfway Crooks Doppelbock I've mentioned before. It's one of the best I've had made here in the US. Interested to hear @FRANKHAZE take too. That one you have sounds great! A BA doppelbock!

Lent has traditionally been 'starkbierzeit' (strong beer time) in Bavaria and I wanted to start my starkbier drinking season (although I happily drink doppelbocks year-round) with the original--Paulaner's Salvator.

Bismarkhbrau Dunkel Bock 6.7%. This is not a great dunkel bock beer but it will do. All malt forward. Caramel and dark malt flavor. Low bitterness. Not doppelbock sweet, semi-sweet and a little drying on the back end. Warming too. Prost!

Deep toasty malts with touches of cocoa. Always a treat, no matter the time of year.

Lightly sweet, deeply toasted malt with touches of cocoa and a bit of dark chocolate in the finish. A lovely doppelbock.
