Pulaski Day celebrated tomorrow is the first of the Chicago Nationalities March Trilogy series (I'm part of all three plus a more), and this is a great beer to get started with the festivities.

• Casimir Pulaski Day (born March 6, 1745 - Celebrated the First Monday of March)

Hot tub/Michelada time this is a good beer, unfortunately these past prime when purchased several months ago. 50 F & rising. We've the last of the record setting temps for highs, but still veryu mild in the 10 day

Today's New Breakfast Beer, with extreme thanks to @Whyteboar for this Ninja selection:



40th Anniversary Expedition Stout (2025) from Bell’s. 12 fl oz bottle, received 17/02/26 in a Ninja box from @Whyteboar (Thanks Craig!) Stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 01/03/26, review 3696. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Final impression and summation: 4.25 Uncredited label art. The dating seems a bit hopeful – I doubt the steel cap will hold for 28 years without rusting apart. This lacks the mild bitterness expected in the Expedition Stout base beer; it’s definitely a bourbon showcase! The ethanol is well hidden. Since Oberon and Two Hearted are about the only Bell’s brews to make it to this area, I really have to thank Craig for this excellent stout!

Local beer, Het Blonde Hert (the blonde deer), issued by Bennebroeks Beer, but actually brewed by "De 7 Deugden", Amsterdam.



It is pretty good, but an unusual combination in between a hoppy (cara red) pale ale and a belgian white (wheat malt and some fruit - i guess bitter oranges or maybe grapefruit. Very drinkable and refreshing at ony 5,5% abv. Yet a little too bitter in the aftertaste to my liking.

 

Still a great beer, but I liked the old label MUCH better.

Happy Sunday BA's! The wife put ribs in low and slow while we went for a 5 mile walk. Now she's finishing them up on the grill with some hickory smoke. I'm watching her work and enjoying a Jai Alai. It should be about 74 and sunny for the St. Pete Indy car race at 1200.
